I would imagine that they will have to make it attractive to lure the punters back.

Remember that before Stanley's took over the casino it was the best poker venue in the midlands,
regularly selling out before that kind of thing was commonplace.

A few years later and the cardroom was closed, having gone through the various stages of decay.

Hopefully they will provide house dealers and other incentives to start with, otherwise I can't really see it taking off.

But if they make a serious effort and provide some competition for Gala Nottm. that can only be good for the local players.

I was talking to guy on ladbrokes last night and he has played at Derby.

He says start time is 10pm, with 2 hours of rebuys.

If that's true all I can say is, what a waste of time.

20 +2 registration fee, 2 hours rebuys, and no dealers !!

Marvellous.

Who are they aiming it at with a 10pm ko?

If it was earlier me and my boss would go and play, as it is i doubt i will ever go.

We've not been to Derby casino for ages - used to go every tuesday after a home poker game.

It was very odd to be leaving a casino with your boss at about 5am while exceedingly drunk. We started work at 9am and there was no excuse I could make to not be there  :D

Looks like Derby are trying to hitch up to the poker bandwagon, but as is sometimes the case, they are putting little thought into the offer they propose.
10pm Ko. outdated start time.
No dealers.
Why do'nt they make an effort to listern to the knowledgeable midland poker freternity, and try to make their game more accomadating.
They must learn now that we players have choices, and will vote with our feet.
