Title: PKR gone, WSOP gone....next?
Post by: fatshaft on June 29, 2017, 06:12:43 PM
Is online poker all but done? The once supremely popular PKR collapsed last month, now WSOP.com closing doors (in  UK at least?), iPoker network now a small affair compared to its heyday.

Is it going to be just Stars, Party and a handful of far east sites remaining soon?

Wasn't it effectively all but done 5 years ago in terms of being anywhere close to the glory days?

Depends how you define 'done'

Some chose to shape up, some chose to ship out but theres still plenty of action if you want it

I largely agree with your sentiment but I don't see the relevance of PKR closing to the overall case.

iPoker has been run terribly for years and its disgusting the level of botting and overall scumbaggery that they have let take place on the network. Should have died a death a long time ago and should have never been granted a UK licence.

Also 2016-17 has been pretty big for online cash games but its not really something the western public can access as you alluded too.

Loved by casual players.

Got to be careful what I say here, but dont disagree. Great people running the network as those who know, know. Sadly it'll always be Playtech, who back in the day were the worst casino operator. They've always had incredible marketing, and that went towards their recruiting of all those UK bookmakers too.

Depends what you mean by worst - they have always been bloody good at making money out of it!

Yeah - don't think Teddy was ever on the wrong end of a deal.
