Julian just knocked out A. Davies in a pot reaching around 50k - there was a preflop raise/re-raise situation, with Julian holding  Ad Qs and Mr. Davies with the  8d 8s.  The rest went in on the flop, with no help yet for YoYo, but the gamble paid off as the Queen fell on the river.  If there was any doubt that Julian is the CHIP LEADER, there isn't any any more.

This guy is James Akenhead.  I just stopped by Table Two for five minutes and he picked up two sets of blinds (1,500 - 3,000 a go) then re-raised Adrian Swingler all-in from the big blind, pushing him off his button raise, then took RED-DOG's big blind for good measure.  Someone has had some coffee today...

Julian finally lets one go... with the blinds at 2,000 - 4,000 he raised in early position to 12k, but G. Smolinski's all-in for 28k more made him think better of it, reluctantly passing.  Incidentally, the two Smolinskis sat next to each other on that table are father and son! 

21 players left, I think.  A little crowd is forming behind the ropes now, so rudders if you want to see anything, get here quickly...


Julian raises 8k - David Gent called in the big blind.  The flop came 4 9 8, Julian bet when it was checked to him (only 10k) but Mr. Gent wasn't interested.   Julian showed him the  Ac Ad anyway.

Adrian Mole takes a big hit with  Ahrt Qs against C. Tsolakides  Aspades 9s.  The nine hit, getting a table-slapping reaction from Adrian's beponytailed opponent and taking his chips to an unhealthy 18k or so.

Smolinski the Younger moved all-in just now for 44k, but Elder Smolinski couldn't call and take out his son.... "He'll kill me" I think was the reason brought forward.  But actually he probably just didn't have a hand.

Martin Kavanagh disposes of another opponent (Mr Ness) with AK vs AJ, and with that we are down to two tables!  18 players means 18 money places means they all get at least £500 for their efforts.

 2d Ts Th 7c 9h was the board.... 90k in the pot and James Akenhead moved all-in for 52,000 against Joe Grech.  After a lengthy dwell Joe folded and got shown  Kc 2h with a bit of a rubdown for his trouble...

On a board of  3s 4d Ks 9s, Julian put Joe all-in for his last fifty thousand or so... there was a crowd-teasing dwell and a bit of chat from Julian, "Do you want some advice?" before Joe released his  Jh Jd and the big pot.  Julian showed a   Kc, but declined to reveal the other one.

They've decamped to the Final Table Zone and play has commenced.  The first couple of hands were fairly sedate, but the third saw a flop AND a turn.  Between Joe Grech and Julian, again.  Joe called Julian's 20k preflop raise and they got as far as  4s Qd 3h 9h before Julian bet him off on the turn.  Here are two of the spectators in the comfy spectator chairs.

 The final of this comp looks to be a pretty long hard fight, so we'd be pretty stretched to cover them both at the same time.  Feel kind of attached to these players after two days too though!  If I happen to run into your friend by some chance (it's pretty busy though so no promises) i will say he has a supporter!

His pocket pair (fours) looked in bad shape against Julian's Queens, and ended up sending him out in fifth.  We were intrigued to find that Julian went in pretty far ahead this time... putting him up another notch in chips.  Martin's getting the TV treatment while they carry on four handed.

V well done Red Dog, julian... and edward. it was a fab tourney and a real pleasure to play with tom and julian at different stages of the comp... Julian really is quite awesome to watch in action and is absolutely fearless, and tom showed a real ability to read players and make moves which will see him pick up plenty more silver this year. i'm a bit dissapointed with 9th but.... roll on sheffield.... broadway...walsall... Go team Blonde!!!

Also on a final note, its really great to play in a comp and then get home and read the live updates, all that support and well wishing... its heart warming stuff. ty one and all.

I just wanted to add what a fantastic weekend i had in Cardiff.  First time for me in sunny Wales and it will hold fond memories for me now.  Congrats of course to Julian and Red Dog who both played amazingly cool and had the place buzzing even though they weren't Welsh.  Also big up to Jen and Snoops who always continue to amaze me with their enthusiasm and stamina for Blonde and their job at hand.

I was happy with my game although i dented myself very early on running into a bigger straight.  Another record for me, this time - "how many times can i go all in and not get called?"  I think it was about 12 times in total although most of the times i wanted to get called.  Its either double up or get out as playing a short stack for about 8 hours is soooo draining.  Anyhow the lunatic cash game on day 2 gave me my get of jail free card and let me pass GO.  Sweet.

Thanks to all who supported the updates, it's so nice to hear from Jen and Snoops all the encouragement from you guys. It just gives us all a great lift and i can never wait to come back home and read whats been going on. x
