Took the game to the froggies. aaayyyyaaarrrrr England played scarily well yesterday, especially towards the end. I'm looking forward to facing the auld enemy with breathless anticipation. That'll be a game and a half. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: The Truth on February 05, 2006, 04:55:11 PM Was a fantastic match - to all in Scotland have a great celebration  :dd:

Two wins for Scotland today. Firstly the Blonde tournie and now the Rugby. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: Ironside on February 05, 2006, 06:43:51 PM well as much as i like to praise scotland for a great result that should keep us away from wooden spoonthis year
and knock england as they were in trouble till wales got a player sin binned half way thru 2nd half and the momentum followed england to the final whistle i have to say i think england will beat scotland but france will beat england and it will be france that will win the 6 nations this year Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on February 05, 2006, 06:56:57 PM Never Thought I'd say this but Thank You Scotland.
Managed to Lay France at 1.14 on Betfair, chasing my losses I took the French scum bags on. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: brad.strider on February 05, 2006, 09:01:59 PM dont be so negative ironside, i smell a grand slam :)up

Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: TightEnd on February 06, 2006, 12:20:46 AM was that the one when the big blonde farmer bloke scored late on when a kick forward bounced beautifly into his hands? john Jeffrey, not Jim jefferies!! part of a great back row with Finlay Calder and John Beattie Brilliant win today, always like to see a total underodg pull off a shock. Good luck to the Scots as they continue to climb back up in rugby terms again. England looked like an exceedingly strong side playing some great rugby. Watching the game I got the impression it was only a matter of time before they broke Wales down. 14 men or 15 the result would have been the same. If I was English I would not have been worried about Wales at any point during that match. After the first weekend England have shown that they are definately the team to beat this year. I just can't wait for the Scotland/England game as I know we're going to try and take it to them.(The poker equivalent of getting your chips in the pot first) Our lads definately have heart and aren't making anywhere near the number of handling errors they were this time last year. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: Ironside on February 06, 2006, 03:11:49 PM i disagree
england were nearly at full strenght and took them all there time to beat the welsh 2nd string with 13 first team regulars injuried or suspended wales scotland and ireland dont have the same depth as england and france as we have a smaller population and a smaller number of players to pick from i think england will beat the home nations although they will be run close but france will beat them with ease as they will be playing at home and wont play as badly as they did on sunday again this season although our boys played there socks off and deserved to win i refuse to get over excited after a win over france at home, france hate coming to murryfield and although recent years have seen them pick up the points murryfield is a bit of a boget ground for the french Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: thetank on February 06, 2006, 03:17:52 PM although our boys played there socks off and deserved to win i refuse to get over excited after a win over france at home, If it's allright with you, I will get over excited. Enjoying it while I can, aaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Rugby is a beautiful game where sometimes dogged determination can win over a side that is faster, stronger and more skillful. This IMHO is why Scotland will always be a contender in the 6 nations. Wales and Ireland too. It's such a fantastic contest because anyone can win it. Except Italy of course. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: Ironside on February 06, 2006, 03:43:15 PM tank every time we get over excited we get knocked back down to earth with a bang
i will get over excited about scotland next time we are 15pts up in the WC final with 1 minute of injury time to go but i can still see us getting beat Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: thetank on February 06, 2006, 04:00:57 PM That's like saying why fall in love because all relationships are doomed to fail and make you feel miserable.
We just have different philosophies I think. Pessimists who claim to be realists can bug the heck out of optimists. Thankfully optimists don't get upset at stuff like that for too long. Whether the glass is half full or half empty is not really the issue. My only concern is who's getting the next round in. Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: Ironside on February 06, 2006, 04:03:31 PM i never fall in love cause all the sheep up here are taken
Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: thetank on February 06, 2006, 04:04:51 PM I never fall in love because I am too obsessed with myself to succumb to such an emotion.
Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: Scottish Dave on February 06, 2006, 06:33:01 PM how the hell can anyone actually watch and enjoy this so called sport? >:?
Its such a terrible "sport" - ;hide; Title: Re: Scotland v France Post by: jbsc7769 on February 06, 2006, 06:51:55 PM The thread seems to have changed from Scotland to England here! Awesome result for Scotland, all of the press that I read (and geard) suggested nobody would beat France this year. Great start. Hopefully (changing the thread again!) England can take advantage and win the thing now
