What a game and we deserved to win

An amazing game. We played out of our skins and put in a fine defensive and overall performance.

Took the game to the froggies. aaayyyyaaarrrrr

England played scarily well yesterday, especially towards the end.
I'm looking forward to facing the auld enemy with breathless anticipation. That'll be a game and a half.

Two wins for Scotland today.

 Firstly the Blonde tournie and now the Rugby.

well as much as i like to praise scotland for a great result that should keep us away from wooden spoonthis year
and knock england as they were in trouble till wales got a player sin binned half way thru 2nd half and the momentum followed england to the final whistle

i have to say i think england will beat scotland but france will beat england and it will be france that will win the 6 nations this year

1990 scotland were there just to make up the numbers i was in germany my company made up mainly of englishmen
to celebrate the ocasion and for an excuse to get pissed we organsied a BBQ amongst the single lads 2 jocks 3 irish 2 welsh and about 30 english, my tv was brought out into the courtyard along with my sofa big jock alpha sorted out the BBQ at the whistle 30 englishmen were chasing me round the courtyard i escaped by diving thru the open window of my room head first and closing it quickly behind me running out the room door thru another room out there window and escaping to the NAAFI bar which we shared with the engineer regiment which was jumping with the celtic members of the camp and not one englishman dare venture in before closing time

was that the one when the big blonde farmer bloke scored late on when a kick forward bounced beautifly into his hands?

dont ask me i was pissed

i googled for the blonde guys name, farmer jeffries apparently!

i disagree. England looked like an exceedingly strong side playing some great rugby. Watching the game I got the impression it was only a matter of time before they broke Wales down. 14 men or 15 the result would have been the same. If I was English I would not have been worried about Wales at any point during that match.

After the first weekend England have shown that they are definately the team to beat this year. I just can't wait for the Scotland/England game as I know we're going to try and take it to them.(The poker equivalent of getting your chips in the pot first) Our lads definately have heart and aren't making anywhere near the number of handling errors they were this time last year.

i disagree

england were nearly at full strenght and took them all there time to beat the welsh 2nd string with 13 first team regulars injuried or suspended

wales scotland and ireland dont have the same depth as england and france as we have a smaller population and a smaller number of players to pick from
i think england will beat the home nations although they will be run close but france will beat them with ease as they will be playing at home and wont play as badly as they did on sunday again this season

although our boys played there socks off and deserved to win i refuse to get over excited after a win over france at home, france hate coming to murryfield and although recent years have seen them pick up the points murryfield is a bit of a boget ground for the french

Rugby is a beautiful game where sometimes dogged determination can win over a side that is faster, stronger and more skillful. This IMHO is why Scotland will always be a contender in the 6 nations. Wales and Ireland too.

It's such a fantastic contest because anyone can win it. Except Italy of course.

i will get over excited about scotland next time we are 15pts up in the WC final with 1 minute of injury time to go but i can still see us getting beat

Pessimists who claim to be realists can bug the heck out of optimists. Thankfully optimists don't get upset at stuff like that  for too long.

The thread seems to have changed from Scotland to England here! Awesome result for Scotland, all of the press that I read (and geard) suggested nobody would beat France this year. Great start. Hopefully (changing the thread again!) England can take advantage and win the thing now
