Title: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on February 27, 2018, 07:25:40 PM Hi Blondes,
It is that time of year again. This is me - http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=192624&_ga=1.186299497.1557112012.1488587826 Look how young and obviously aggro I will be. I have sold action previously on Blonde:- http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=67703.0 http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=67496.0 http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=67988.0 I am selling a package of 13 tournaments over the next 6 weeks. I will be playing the Portsmouth 25/25 (£200+£25) on the 10th March and then a full week of APAT in Manchester at the start of April. The APAT events I am playing are here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-MLDc1JRb_xN2mrlvTFUPCH2XGEdnFV3/view?usp=sharing Cliffs, 12 events totalling £900. £100 main event, £220 high roller and the rest are all £50 side events. There are bound to be some refunds in the APAT schedule as we run deep in different things. Also if I feel shitty then won't play. Fully expecting to play everything though and really looking forward to it. Been watching a lot of Lex on Twitch and buzzing to get out there and bink something. These APAT tourneys are gold, we had some close runs last year and then made the final 50 in the Goliath. Hoping to convert this year. Any questions then fire away. The total outlay for all 13 tournaments is £1,125. I am selling a maximum of 35% at spot. 10% is £112.50. Bank transfer would be preferred. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on March 11, 2018, 12:40:00 AM We just bust the 25/25 last hand of the day. Will do a proper write up in the morning.
Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on March 11, 2018, 03:37:30 PM Not a great days poker yesterday.
Got nothing going for the first 6 levels. Very card dead and no good spots. When I was involved, I was just second best. So chipped down to 12k then doubled when AK beat JJ. Got up to 30k and was going ok. Only one interesting hand, young guy opens button, and we defend A6o from th big blind. Button goes bet bet jam on K8K6K. I think I should call flop, got stubborn on turn and then tank folded river. Was close to calling it off but was worried he might jam hands like 99 now for value or could be bluffing with hands I still lose to. I asked afterwards and he said he had quads so there we go. Really unsure about that hand. I think I have to have some calls on the river that aren’t just quads, an Ace is basically the same as a 6 in this spot though. Anyway in the end chipped down and lost some flips. Got my last 5bbs in on the last hand of the night with 96ss in the big blind and couldn’t beat Q10. Standard was as expected, just never found any momentum. Big schedule in 3 weeks, can’t wait. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 02, 2018, 06:07:22 PM Arrived in Manchester.
5 full days of poker, let’s get em. Little NLH to get us started tonight. Will do a post tournament brief update and if we get deep in anything as we go. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: tikay on April 02, 2018, 07:54:36 PM Good luck Mark. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 03, 2018, 11:49:05 AM No joy in the first event last night, lots of chances today though.
Made a couple of mistakes last night with a mis timed bluff in a spot where I probably shouldn't. Ended up jamming kq over a limp off 10bbs and the limper had AK. Feeling good today, let's see how we go. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: typhoon13 on April 03, 2018, 11:54:50 AM Good Luck Sir Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 03, 2018, 01:42:13 PM Bleugh, bust the mix max in level 2.
50/100. We have 11k. EP raise to 300, loose guy 3bets to 700. We flat AQcc from the SB. EP comes along. Flop 10xx with 2 clubs. We check call 1500, EP raiser calls too. River is a queen and EP raiser bets 4.5k. What do we do here, I can’t just call half my stack? Fold? I think I picked the worst option and we didn’t get there. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 03, 2018, 01:48:06 PM Meant turn is a Queen.
Think I have to fold. Sigh Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 04, 2018, 10:59:54 AM Still unsure on the hand I posted yesterday, feels super nitty to fold, heh ho.
No joy in either of the late comps yesterday. Chipped down in the bounty with no hands of note, ended up shoving K7ss from the SB into BB and lost to A7o. No opportunities to find a bounty. These side events are quick structures so got to find some hands. The Mississippi straddle was a bizarre event. Start at 25/50 with a 10K stack and the straddle is on to 400 every hand takes a lot of the decision making out of it. Ended up busting to Alli Mallu when AQ<A10 with circa 30 left. NLH shootout at 1,30pm then the deepstack at 4pm. Looking forward to that one. Played with Hutch for a short period yesterday, good to meet you mate and congrats on the multiple final tables. :-) Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: tikay on April 04, 2018, 12:48:17 PM Still unsure on the hand I posted yesterday, feels super nitty to fold, heh ho. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 05, 2018, 10:24:38 AM We made a day 2, hurrah. We are 14/21 in the 220 deepstack, 4K for first. Coming back to 30 bigs. Pleased with how I played yesterday on a tough table, let’s run good today.
No good in the earlier shootout. Got to last 4 but structure caught up and jammed QJ for 13bbs and nit rolled by AJ. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: tikay on April 05, 2018, 11:14:01 AM Today's the day. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 05, 2018, 03:00:06 PM Final table.
We have a bit below average. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 05, 2018, 04:33:08 PM 8th.
1010<A3 to get back to average. We go again in the main. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 06, 2018, 12:18:46 PM Tough grind yesterday.
Really thought we were gonna win the deepstack. Happy with how I played all tournament and bust out hand was first time at risk. Just went so card dead on the final table and have to hold there. Bust the main event at 11pm last night. Never really got much above starting on super splashy tables. Made a bad fold that had me really steamed up but actually only cost about 4k. Chipped up gradually but ended jamming Kqss over a cutoff raise and he has QQ. Only 3 more events now to get out of it. Tag team, mix max and Irish. Need a win. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: tikay on April 06, 2018, 05:06:05 PM Well done in the Deepstack. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 07, 2018, 11:15:34 AM Just played the tag team yesterday and finished 8th. Top 5 paid.
Really pleased with how I played, AK < A9 for chunks last hand before final table. We have run just brutal in the key spots this week. Mix max today and then that’s your lot. There will be a few tournament refunds that we couldn’t play. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 08, 2018, 10:30:18 AM We have truly run like dog shit all week.
Bust just before heads up in the mix max. Raise A4ss 6 handed from button and BB defends and check jams an A76 board two spades with 79o and finds the 9 on the river. Double average pot. Will do a full round up when the dust has settled. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: tikay on April 08, 2018, 11:42:37 AM ^^^^ Ugly stuff. Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: typhoon13 on April 08, 2018, 12:22:52 PM Unlucky Theres always mañana Title: Re: Full WCOAP Schedule + Portsmouth 25/25 Post by: Mark_Porter on April 11, 2018, 02:56:24 PM There were 3 tournaments that we ended up not playing in the schedule due to clashes. That means we have a refund of £171. If everyone can PM their bank details then I will get the %’s sent this week.
As always, thank you so much for the stakes. We ended up bricking the 9 tournament £729 schedule. To put the week into context, I stay with some friends every year. This year, as a group, we had a total of 22 final table appearances, 2 outright wins, 6 silvers and 1 bronze. That included a 2nd and 5th in the main event. Just a sick effort by everyone, it’s so fun playing for a whole week when your mates are going deep all around you. I am quite self critical and I know I can get better. I can also recognise that I can’t be too critical of bricking 9 tournaments. Sample size and all that. Overall, I played fine, generally didn’t run well all week and just lost all the crucial big pots. Lost a huge pot before the final table of the tag team which would have put us in the top 3 stacks going in. Just ran into hands on the final table of the deepstack too and the final was so so soft. Really thought that was going to be the one. I know I have lots of room for improvement. I definitely err on the side of thinking through hands and devising strategies in a “balanced” way. I.e. Lojack raise, hijack 3 bets and we have choices on the button. If we are going to 4 bet AA, KK, QQ, AK then we need to include some A10ss, A9ss, KQss as bluffs. That sort of thinking in general just might not be right for these sort of tournaments. Not that I was really making lots of big bluffs pre flop, it’s just a mindset thing. I think I can get better at that and in the right spots, play exploitatively with pre flop ranges and post flop bet sizings against the right villains. I am so hungry to win something. I know something is round the corner, just got to keep learning and playing. Just loving the game at the moment. I am going to play the Goliath later this year and will probably sell a small package combined with side events and APAT stuff. Also going to probably sell an approximately $400 SCOOP package and some other online stuff later in the year. Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it. We will get em next time.
