Quite a few staying at the orleans. Thats where chubbs,kev and john are already. Very good rates and would come highly recommended by a good few of us on here.

I have a potential place at the Gold Coast? Any good?

BTW, I'm not going to play the big one, unless i win a sat out there.

I believe it(the gold coast) was recommended by fat jac, whatever that means.

So many factors to take into account for choice of accommodation.

Initially

1) How much do you want to spend? - My personal favourite is The Bellagio, you are paying top dollar but the service is second to none. On a budget The Orleans is great value but is remote from the Strip (so if you fancy a walk through the bright lights, watching the free shows etc. you are comitted to a taxi there and back). The Gold Coast is next to the Rio (note in Vegas next to can equate to a mile away) and so will be ideal if you are playing in the Series. Never stayed myself but I believe the rooms are typical Vegas 3* standard.
2) Do you plan to play mostly tournaments, cash or both? - The question here is significant if you are intent an playing cash games. It helps to be staying in the Casino in which you intend to play. The rationale relates to a combination of the UK body clock (you will find yourself waking about 4.00am the first week) and this is often the best time to play. You will find games that have been running from the night before with over-tired, often drunk players and even better off-duty dealers, ripe for the picking. Also when you have adjusted to the time-zone and you have just completed a twelve hour session at the table it is wondeful to wander to the elevator and be in your room within ten minutes.
The choice of Hotel also depends on what cash games do you intend to play and at what limits. Once again my personal favourite is The Bellagio, only because they run the best game on the planet $20/40 hi-lo with a half kill starts up every morning around 10.30am and is the perfect combination of 3/4 Vegas pro's and a regular succession of home game hold em players prepared to loose a few buck whilst on vacation. If $20/40 is a little rich I am reliably informed that the Mirage hosts a $5/10 hi-lo that is very soft.
Again similar to the room rates at lower levels there is a tremendous selection of games at The Orleans from $2/4 upwards. The Orleans has the added benefit of two tournaments daily (one afternoon and one evening) from $20 buy-in up to $200 buy-in. Mostly hold-em a mix of limit and no-limit with the odd hi-lo thrown in.

There are plenty of other Hotels with Poker Rooms, but I would suggest the above mentioned are the best. Albeit I hav not been out for 8 months and a lot may have changed. I believe no-limit cash games have grown enormously in the past few months.

Ultimately the deciding factor must be that a number of the Blonde Forumites are staying at The Orleans. And once the Cards are out of the way you are gonna want to party and you may as well party with the best.

its not a holiday johnathon its a research/advertising trip for blue square! i booked the luxor for two weeks the other day flights inc 1000quid all in not to bad but there was cheaper on the list!

Flush is going to be there from the 13th onwards - he's staying for a week after the WSOP for Joe beevers wedding I think - so not playing the WSOP obviously, but will be around at the end of it.

for a poker player he does the least poker playing that i no of!

I am still getting emails from Boardwalk casino offering tower rooms at $39 a night--Not the most luxurious but right next to MGM..
I stayed there in Feb and found it very convenient.. Also I understand Golden Nugget have some good deals if you want to be downtown.

At least The Village supplied us with our own private non smoking card room for free.. And then cooked us breakfast when the rum ran out at 8am!

As for the non-smoking card room, the "No Smoking" sign had nicotine stains on it. Breakfast? I had lapsed into unconciousness by 8.00am, totally soberish

Me, Tikay and Julian booked in at orleans (although Julian is leaving us on the 6th for the Rio) - snob!!!

Juliian a snob? Just a bit. He even says you have to use different shaped glasses for red wine & white wine.

Still hanging on my boss's decision but if the man from del monte say yes, I've found a 10 day package inc flights and acc at the Orleans for about a grand?  Does this seem reasonable?

i didnt do a package but flights were 550 and hotel approx 40pppn so yeah sounds reasonable

Staying at the Treasure Island with a 1000 or so other Pokerstar Players.
Looks nice on the website should be fun.

Yes, definitely playing but not in the big one (unless I get another good touch before then).  Targetting Event 43 ($1,500 No Limit) as the most likely source of my first WSOP bracelet.  Think it will go quite nicely with my P4C wristband.

Sorry you can't make it, but you are not alone, it's only the really lucky ones that can get over to Vegas.

Your live updates are superb, have spent many an hour following updates from all over the place.  The forum is excellent in general.  I'm gonna be out of the country while the "main event" is taking place so will have to check for the latest updates in the old internet cafs.  Good luck to all of you playing out there, wouldn't it be amazing if a blonde one, won the big one!

Do you think it should be stipulated that if a blondeite wins the biggie he/she has to mention this place in every interview thereafter?

If I win it my interview will be a mix of betfair and blonde. See how many times you can get it into every interview lol.

No JR, have finally decided against it. I have a lot of responsibiility on my shoulders to make sure the Live Updates go well. If I played the biggie, I would have one half of my mind on the Live Updates.

But shed no tears for tikay, I just wanna do the job properly, & I am going to thoroughly enjoy sweating all our boys, & interacting with the folks back in the UK who will be wanting to know how their buds & fellow blondeites are shaping up. My decision, & I'm comfy with it. Might cringe a bit when they say "shuffle up & deal", but there's worse things in life. Our Forum sponsors & Partners for July, Poker 425, have spent a fortune one way & another - they have a big marketing spend planned for the Poker 425 blonde Forum WSOP Live Updates, in the Racing Post, starting Saturday, and but for their financial assistance, we could not afford to do it properly.

But a big BIG thanks to all the guys who have tried to persuade me to play, led by Ariston, & offered to play sats & the like on my behalf. It mean't a great deal to me.

But there's always a sliver lining. I am bringing an assistant with me to help with the Live Updates - that's not cheap either - and I KNOW you will be pleased when you know who THAT is. Watch this space.

Well, after touching down on Wednesday afternoon in Vegas I intend to go to the Tribeca eve of biggie cocktail reception with Doyle Brunson and Mike Caro due to be in attendence.  Then have to make a decision about whether to stay on for the formal dinner at the Palms I think or head for the Rio for the last chance biggie satellite. Decisions decisions. 

Poker 425 have an invite to the Doyle Brunson "do", but I don't fancy our chances of an interview. Still, you never know........
