Several blokes who used to be women, including some top class runners and a champion weight-lifter, have had gender re-assignment and are now competing with what I believe to be a huge and unfair advantage. Contrast this with a high profile case about a natural born woman who happens to have higher than average testosterone levels. She's a runner and the sport's governing body want her to take medication to lower her testosterone levels. The case is going through the courts at the moment. It seems to me though, that her advantage is a natural one, just like having longer legs or bigger lungs would be. It's a tough one though, she's built like a brick shithouse and what's more, the girl who finished behind her to take silver also has the 'too much testosteron' gene. My current opinion is, let the naturals keep their 'God given' advantage, but deny the gender re-assignment men/women theirs. Title: Re: Transgender athletes debate.
