Title: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:05:41 AM Morning everyone! We are here in Deauvile, there is a clear blue sky, it's a little chilly, but we are all set for a 4 day Update-Fest. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: AndrewT on February 08, 2006, 11:09:24 AM Bonjour Monsieur Tikay.
Je voudrais un demi-kilo du jambon, s'il vous plait. That's about all I can remember from French lessons at school. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:13:33 AM The bad news - for blonde - is that our Star Updater, Jen, is playing, so we have lost her services for this one, but that's GREAT news for Jen, & I know you will all join us in cheering her every move. But our NEW star - snoopy - will be in charge, so you'll not notice the difference, he's a pretty cool dude too. I have applied to be his Assistant - got the job - & a few blondeites have offered to help us out by being "runners" & "spotters" - namely Sunday@8pm & PokerQ. Plus, I believe The Boy Thewy is not playing until tomorrow, so he offered to lend a hand today, & so will Jen on her "off" day I'm sure. (There are two opening days). Ditto Monty Burns. Only on blonde! Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:16:00 AM Hi Andrew, 2pm (local), thats 1pm UK. But having seen the chaotic queues here this morning, it's not "will it start late?", it's "how late?". We are in France, you know. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: winkie on February 08, 2006, 11:20:24 AM Do you have a list of the runners and riders...?
Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:22:19 AM Just to get the serious stuff outa the way before we get started, I'd just like to ask those peeps that have been Copying & Pasting our Live Updates onto other sites to remember they cost us plenty, & we don't charge for them, so if you must C & P from blonde - & we'd rather you did not, but I guess we can't stop you - would you PLEASE give accreditation to www.blondepoker.com. Thanks. OK, on with the business in hand - a fun Update! Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on February 08, 2006, 11:30:37 AM Any idea on when Dubai is playing Tikay?
Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: RED-DOG on February 08, 2006, 11:35:55 AM Morning guys, Looks like you are mob handed today, updater wise.
This being the case I ask, nay, demand, constant info on Jens campaign I also expect all the members to be totally bias where she is concerned Please pass on my best wishes, and tell her I will be here on and off throughout the day with my aaayyyaaarrr's at the ready Plenty of pics please, looking forward to it Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:40:51 AM Answering your questions - Jen? - you bet we will be following her, almost hand for hand, plenty of pics of her too.
List of runners & riders? Not been published yet, nor do we know who is playing on the first Day One, & the second Day One. When is Dubai playing? I refer to my previous answer. Pics - LOTS of them. And guess who has just arrived, fresh out of bed? snippy! Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: charmaine on February 08, 2006, 11:42:36 AM Good luck to all blondes :)up :)up Jen especially :)up
Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:44:32 AM We have, we expect, 250 runners on each of the two Day One's, a large proportion of which will be internet qualifiers whom we don't know by name. So the plan is to follow those we know on the two opening days, and load up plenty of pics. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: RED-DOG on February 08, 2006, 11:48:09 AM Bonjour Snoops, what time do you call this?
(You didn't lock your keys in the Eurostar did you?) Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: Ginger on February 08, 2006, 11:53:08 AM I, of course, will be totally biased towards James :D but best of luck to Jen too!!
James is on his way to the Casino now, he sounds in high spirits and a great positive attitude. Unfortunately I start Uni the same time as the tourny starts so it will be hard for me to post replies etc (but I will be sneaking regular peeks at the updates) Tikay, can you give him the usual big kiss and a good luck hug from me pleeeeeeeeease ;D oh, and if you can do as many updates as possible on James, between Jen posts it would be greatly appreciated! Jane xx Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 11:55:40 AM I am not fiffing and faffing!
:D Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: julian on February 08, 2006, 11:55:52 AM just finishing my nails tk, will be there for the start
Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:57:07 AM snippy has not started work yet! He's fiffing & faffing like a faffing thing.
Talking of losing things, I left my Moby in the taxi that took me from Deauville Station to the venue at 10.00 am this morning. I sat & had brekkie with Willie Tann, Stuart Nash, & Mr Gilbert, & realised I had lost my phone. Got a cab back to the station, found the original taxi, & there was my moby, nestling on the back seat. Phew..... Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: Junior Senior on February 08, 2006, 12:01:11 PM good luck to all blondies, wish i was there but will be following closely from the sofa.
:D Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 12:05:06 PM Spotted & chatted with so far......
Roland De Wolfe. Dpommo Willie Tann Bambos Correction to my earlier Post - it was NOT Stuart Nash I had brekkie with, it was Bambos. It's an age thing. Lord Lawrence Gosney David Lloyd Jim Read Luca Pagano, complete with size 17 canoes. Greg Raymer Peter Roche Ian MacDonald And I spoke to a bunch of guys who were on the golf coiurse.....Iwan Jones, Marc "Mr Cool" Goodwin, & Monty Burns. Thewy is doing his nails, apparently. Jen is here, playing tomorrow I gather, as is Thewy, & Monty Burns. Ivo Donev Jan Boubli Racing Ronnie De Beauloux Ian Haircut Woodley Enough yet? Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 12:05:08 PM Hi gang. :hello:
snoops here We're now stationed on the stage area overlooking the cardroom. I felt like I was preparing to perform as I ascended the stage stairs. My mummy always said I was a star. *g There should be massive interest for this event. The amount of Brits here is unbelievable, especially considering the long tedious journey. And no RED, I didn't lock my keys in the Eurostar! :D ;tk; Some names that I've seen lurking around: John Hewston (or Jim Reid) -- I always mix those two fellas up Willie Tann Lawrence Grosney Craig Wildman (I KNOW IT) Micky Wernick Sunday8pm Luckyblind Jen (Djinn) Dubai Dpommo Ben Grundy (Milkybarkid) Ross Boatman Ram Vaswani Steve Vladar Xuyem 'Bad Girl' Pham Julina 'Yoyo' Thew Juha Helppi Keith Hawkins (Camel) Carlo Citrone I'll throw out some more when they come to me, but the list is seemingly endless. Also, I haven't confirmed who is playing and on what day. Some fellas such as Craig and Ben have popped down to have a butchers and perhaps lend a hand. Top lads! Should be a cracking event... Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: RED-DOG on February 08, 2006, 12:06:52 PM I once put my mobile on top of the cistern in a public loo while I did the necessary, as I stood up I heard an extra plop that I wasn't expecting, forcing me to do some very unpleasant fishing
It was one of the old Motarola "Brick" phones, a quick rub with the Dettol and a blast from the car heater and it was fine Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: patman on February 08, 2006, 12:11:10 PM hi takay and snoopy
glad to hear the update gearing up..will be following question if you can answer..did mikkyT make the mad dash and get there to play?? Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 12:15:31 PM I once put my mobile on top of the cistern in a public loo while I did the necessary, as I stood up I heard an extra plop that I wasn't expecting, forcing me to do some very unpleasant fishing It was one of the old Motarola "Brick" phones, a quick rub with the Dettol and a blast from the car heater and it was fine When I was a lad, I made the same faux pas with one of those tamagotchi things that you had to feed and nurture. I pondered for a while before dipping in to a toilet that still held my excrements. When I got him out, he made a slight whimper and died. Bah! Lose lose situation. Any1 remember tamagotchis, or was it just me who was geeky enough? ;tk; Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 12:18:33 PM Great story Red!
Mikky T - I don't knolw if he made it or not, I hope he did, & we will folow his progress if he does play. And now for some wicked news - I just spoke to Jen, she is on her way down to the venue, she wants to help us out & maybe do a bit of Updating. I don't know if we can fiddle a Press Pass for her, though I just spoke to Conrad Brunner, the PokerStars Big Suit, & he's a big Jen Fan, so I think we will be able to swing it. But if she DOES help out, we must make sure she does not stay until the end, she has a BIG day tomorrow - the biggest day of her poker life. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: 77dave on February 08, 2006, 12:21:52 PM hi all

Big high ceiling, huge windows, though sadly the curtains are closed. Pics of the scene due soon, snoops has toddled off with the camera to get snapping. Right behind me, one Greg Raymer is giving his usual round of Media Interviews, patiently & politely as ever. He really is a super guy. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: Milkybarkid on February 08, 2006, 12:24:51 PM I spotted a few fish

Lying on the sofa with hankies, water, tons of nurofen and watching KingKong on the telly. Piccy's of pretty girls are the only thing likely to make me feel better :D Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 12:38:01 PM The buy-in? €4,000. That's about £3,000, I guess. Plus hotel for 5 nights at $190 per night, plus travel costs...... Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: bundle on February 08, 2006, 12:44:45 PM I’m a little surprised Mr Red Dog didn’t have a crack at this one.
Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 12:46:29 PM We shall oblige ifm, we shall oblige. But snoopy is battling with the camera right now, the lad's hopeless without Jen.
More help has arrived in the form of Jonathan Rabb, who has also volunteered to assist blonde, as he always does. But he's really here to support the Blue Square Unusual Suspects - Jen, Burnley John,& Flushy, (not J P Kelly, as I reported earlier - my apologies Flushy!). Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on February 08, 2006, 12:46:59 PM Im a little surprised Mr Red Dog didnt have a crack at this one. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on February 08, 2006, 12:48:32 PM I see that if any the betfair boys make the final table Betfair are paying the buy-in fee to this comp for the next 3 years.
Not bad eh Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 12:50:05 PM Well we are due to start in 10 minutes, the dealers are all seated - but there is not a single player at any table!
We've had a sweep on the start time. Rolf Slotboom went for 2.15pm, Ben 2.50pm, snoops 3.05pm, & I went for 3.10pm. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: thetank on February 08, 2006, 12:50:26 PM I got a text from MikkyT just before 11 am today.
"Mikky here On train. Arrive at 1pm frog time. Didn't bring Visa, no deposity lol. No batt on moby and no socket on train t#@ts. Touney starts at two." Not sure why he needs a Visa or a deposit but it sounds like he's having a whure of a day so far. Good luck to him, hope he makes it in time. Matt - no, I have at last made my mind up, after dithering all week, & I have decided to give it a miss, & concentrate on the Live Update. With Jen in action, it's not fair to leave snoops alone, he's only little. And there are plenty of comps in the next few weeks for me to play - The Broadway, Midlands Medley, etc. So, no is the answer. Nice interview by you on Poker 425 tonight Matt, but I give you a bit of grief in the summary. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: b4matt on February 08, 2006, 01:00:08 PM Grief.... GRIEF.... Amd some great news - Jen has turned up, & is sat next to me! Say Hi to her please. And wish her good luck for tomorrow. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 01:22:55 PM Hi all - Jen here on Snoopy's computer. The besuited man guarding the press area has let me in 'just once' but I am sure we will circumnavigate this problem and hopefully I can help out Snoops and Tikay with a bit of table running in between railing all the people I know playing today. And there are so many of them! It is a lovely spacious red-brocade and gold-y room with chandeliers (I see Snoops returning with camera so I'll cut the description short and let him show you for yourself...) Back later!

-- Dpommo is in super agressive mode today. -- Dubai also seems to be playing many hands looking to chip up quickly. -- Noah Boeken is seated next to Dubai -- KP Nuts has taken the laid back approach and is chatting away to the railbirds. -- 2 players eliminated thus far. OK, of to get some pics. Just seen Marc Goodwin, Smokin Steve, & Bad Girl, all late arrivals, but there's no rush with 10k, 25-50 blinds, & a 1 hiour clock. I gather there have been two exits already, but we don't have details yet. Jeff Duval is here, playing today, too. And I just met Ali, from Virgin Poker. Not had the pleasure previously. Nice guy - a lot younger than me, which was a surprise. Barry Neville is not here, so far as I know. I'm sure I woulda heard him if he was. I'm off to get some pics. It's hard to get meaningful chip counts at this stage, so many internet qualifiers who we don't know, though Jen never makes that excuse. PS - Simon - XXXXXXXXXXXXX to Justine! Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: AlrightJack on February 08, 2006, 02:12:36 PM Hi folks, finally got over the wi-fi problems I was having. 3 different wireless cards, only one of which would work and that was having problems even though it was conncected. Anyway, a quick few option changes and I'm up and running.
As Tikay mentioned earlier, this event also sees the resumption of the Unusual Suspects, Blue Square's somewhat different take on player sponsorship, that has been running for the past few months. We started out with 9 players and are now down to three John Falconer 102 pts James Dempsey 96 pts Jen Mason 95 pts They get points for outlasting each other, as follows 1st 12 pts 2nd 9 pts 3rd 7 pts They also get bonus points for making the money, final table, etc. After this event they play each other heads up twice (4 games each in total) for 5 pts per win and after all that is over the player with the most points will be deemed the winner and will progress to The EPT finale in Monte Carlo next month. Of course I will have to tag along too 8) Anyway, both John and James started their campaigns today and as has been reported Burnley John is on dpommo's table. James has had a bad start and has lost maybe 25% of his stack against an unknown Scandie. He's got Carlos Mortensen to his right, Jim Read to his left and Roy Brindley diagonally opposite. Jen plays tomorrow, as does ex Unusual Suspect and European Numero Uno, Mickey 'The legend' Wolverhampton Wernick. Mickey is now sponsored by Blue Square so we wish him well in his quest to retain his title. Royal Fish/Flush on about the same, but cautiously also keeping aware of the Burnely stack. They're playing not just for any cash they might pick here but for a €10,000 EPT seat as well.... The Dpommo/Burnely John table is indeed a cracker to watch, with Juha Helpi also seated. Ah, the gentle sound of chips clacking together, interspersed with the occasional swear word. Not heard any ayaaaaarrrrrs yet though. Kev, on the norkage front, I think you'd be happy here ;) Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 03:10:35 PM Wow, unattended laptop! Jen here - just been sneaking around the tables with a few borrowed credentials and here are some tidbits:
Burnley John, although down to 5k just a minute ago has doubled up flopping trips on an AQQ flop, with an opponent holding Q 10 while his Q J was just that little bit better... Stuart Nash (5,000 left) just found himself in a sticky dwell situation when he made a pretty hefty 2,200 bet into a threeway pot which already had over 3k in in on a 3h Ks Ts flop. One opponent called, and the turn was the 7s. Stuart checked, got a 5k bet at him, which was pretty much all-in to call, and dwelled for England before eventually passing. Dpommo, last time I checked, had 13,000, but the seesaw effect seems to include Dubai (one gets over 10k, the other drifts beneath) who has less than previously. Burnley John's back down to around 7k, but it looks like Flushey is defeating his hangover to crawl up to 12k. He is full of admiration for the raisy crazy Carlos Mortensen on his left, saying that he's just flat calling occasionally and trying to pick up some pots. It's sit'n'gos only here, so they create a bit of a frenzy as a table becomes spare; it's like musical chairs as they rush to grab a seat... Yesterday's trial one for me went terribly, but Jonathan Raab managed to win his. Anyway, although the room is still packed, the "seat open!" shouts are coming with regularity.

A few things to mention, For the french followers Pascal Perrault is on 8k, hes got the hump on because Roland De Wolfe is raising every hand on that table, he's raising so much he even makes Foxy, who is 3 to his right, look tight! Dpommo is up to 18.5k, Juha Helppi to his right has 13.5k and Burnely John who is 3 to pommos left has about 7k. Dubai seems a bit frustrated and is hovering around the 11k mark, i hope its not long before he finds some hands and chips up. Thewy is playing a 250E sit and go...he looks ready for a lot of side game action as when i saw him pull his cash out of his pocket he looked fairly wedged up! Must be all those results he's had lately. WP Julian. im going to go to check on Lawrence Gosney and MikkyT for you, just bear with me. ps Jen...i might sneak in a 5000th post before you! :);) Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: spacefrog on February 08, 2006, 04:58:16 PM Space Frog! Great updates guys keep up the good work!!! so many blondes out there im rooting for about half the field! good luck everyone playing and keep up the good work team blonde!!! 8) 8) Rupert you should be out here bud! I THINK/HOPE i spotted Lawrence Gosney, if it is him he has 8k. Olander is a class act and will do well, but he actually came 2nd in the Dublin EPT snoopy. Good luck to KP and Dave O C, bring it home.......... Rob, my bad, it was Mats Gavatin who won the event i believe.. The players are now on a 15 minute break, which doesn't really make sense because when they come back they will onle be playing for another 15 minutes before the 7pm dinner break! Some good news on the 'Total Poker' side, Dubai has 16k whilst Dpommo is trailing just behind with 14.5k Meanwhile Ram Vaswani is grinding away and has 8.5k and Jimmy 'Jimmy B' Bozonik is struggling on 5.5k People seem to be making a stand against Patrik Antonius now...his continued agression is being met with much resistance by the rest of the table, he looks like hes down to 7k or so at the break. keep the requests coming and as soon as i locate the camera ill get snapping. Ben (sunday8pm) Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: Shaa on February 08, 2006, 05:44:39 PM Some more notes from Sunday8pm: -- Burnley John is looking very anxious outside the poker room, maybe dpommo attacking him from the button every big blind is starting to wear him down a little. -- Dubai and Noah Boeken are running table 20, non stop raising and reraising. I don't think it will be too long before they both clash. -- Ram Vaswani semms content with just playing premium hands... He's folded 4 in a row! Are you sure?? That Dubai fella is a rock !!!!! We thought that they were staggering the break so that the large numbers of players go in two hour-long shifts, which means that enough steaks and things are available for the hungry gamblers (there was an announcement to that effect about an hour ago) but everyone's cleared off now so we're not sure exactly what's going on.
Thought you might be spared the quiet tension of a proper hour's hiatus, but there might be no avoiding it... Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 06:30:17 PM UKGatsby - they are playing ten hour-long levels today. There will be a good handful more runners for day 1B, so the actual end-of-day totals are likely to be unestimatable.

Could Marcel be forced to change up, if he hoovered up enough small chips to significantly slow down play at the table as the dealer had to sort out change every hand? I can understand his reasons for doing this, but it strikes me as quite an arseholey/primadonna-ish thing to do. Ben brings word that the biggest single pot young James has won has been about 10k and involved his Qs Qh vs. Aspades Kd, all in preflop. So no real shock value to the story, but it's still nice, I am sure (although Queens haven't been kind to everyone - remember Bad Girl). Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 08:11:29 PM By the way, Wunderkind Patrik Antonius, storming towards the chip lead as is his general trend, had a bit of a Get Out of Jail Free moment about half an hour into tonight's competition. He was down to 6,600 chips, and saw an Ad Th 5s flop. The other guy bet 2k, he pushed all-in and was called. He had Aspades 9d and found Ac Qc!
Turn: Ts River: Kd That's a split pot, that is. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 08:29:56 PM Hi gang. snoops here. Boy, the last seven days have caught up with me.

How do we know this? We asked him and he replied instantly. He always knows exactly what his stack is at any point, according to James.
Meanwhile, Burnlry John Falconer is still yo-yoing and is currently on a downward swing with about 4.5k Lord Wernick is struggling to get a seat in a €500 sit 'n go. Anyhow, not too much happening here at the moment. The players are currently enjoying a 15 minute break. John Hewston is finding this a marathon whilst foxy is just trying to battle a hang over. Roland de Wolfe, early loser, middle period regainer is later stage stack grower... he now has 31,000 and counting (after a QQ got him a double through off 99 on a Seven-high flop). Meanwhile, the latest Burnley John news is that he was down to less than 900 chips and in one of those all-ins of necessity on his big blind. It just so happened that he had A6, and his opponent KJ. Flop: J7Q Turn: A River: A So double up from minute to small, but he's still in... Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: AlrightJack on February 08, 2006, 09:37:55 PM Story to tell here. About 3 or 4 hours ago, I'm walking past a table and Mark Teltscher says
"excuse me mate, u couldn't get me a bottle of water could you, I don't want to miss a hand" Now, I don't think I've met him before and I ceratinly don't look like a valet, but hey, I'm not one to refuse such a request so off I go and get him a bottle (its free anyway). About an hour or so later I'm walking past him again, and the same thing "mate, couldn't get us a bottle of water could you, still not fizzy" Scratching my head as to why I've suddenly become his water bitch I duly oblige. An hour later and I'm passing by his table, so I tap him on the shoulder and ask "Mark, need any more water?" So I get him another water. Well, we couldn't have him getting dehydrated could we.... Now, I'm going to follow this up later, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he is a long lost cousin of mine on my father's side. Flushy won a nice pot with KJ when the board came 10 Q A. He bet it out - one caller. A third club slowed him down a bit (check-call, then check-check to be exact) but when he saw the other guy had AQ he realised what an interestingly large pot it COULD have been... Where is Burley John from? Speaking of Burnley John was on 750 at one point. He's now on 26k. Crikey! Heres another just in case you couldn't decide... We might need a side by side to compare since you're fishing for a compliment ;) Sandy ps she is over 16 right ? Yup, 16. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: byronkincaid on February 08, 2006, 11:01:14 PM I'm reading a poker magazine one day and my daughter Amber (who's 2 tomorrow btw) starts looking at it too. It seems like Jan Boubli is on every other page for some reason so we have a little game of find Jan Boubli and every time that magazine comes through the door we have to check through it to find out if there are any more pictures of him.
So tonight we've got Cbeebies up on one monitor and this thread up on the other when up comes a picture of the man himself, so of course I ask "Who's that?" Blank expression "It's Jan Boubli" "No" "Yeah it is it's Jan Boubli" "No" "Come on babes you know who that is it's Mr Boubli man" Getting slightly tearful now I get another shake of the head, so I guess she's tired and it's time for bed. Which goes to show who the intelligent one is in this house. :D I will have to explain what a silly daddy I am in the morning. Could we have a piccy of the real Jan Boubli when you next see him please Tikay? Jen has gone chip-counting, & we are gonna see this through to close of play with counts, quotes & pics. We are having some tech problems with slow response by the software, and it's being checked out. The white-shirted portly gentleman has plenty of chips, but we have no idea who he is, though he kinda looks American. And that's Man of the Moment Patrick Antonius on the right of the pic. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 08, 2006, 11:41:07 PM Rolf Slotboom and I have agreed a cheeky sidebet.
I had to choose 1 Brit, and he had to select one of his countrymen. I plumped for Flushy, whilst he opted for Marc Nalden. The cheeky monkey knew Nalden was stacked up, by I still have a good feeling about Flushy tonight. Speaking of Flushy, he has 14k. According to the man himself, he's made a few badly timed bluffs and ran into K-K with A-K. Nalden has 44k Bah. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: tikay on February 08, 2006, 11:43:28 PM Young Patrick Mortensen just made a quite extraordinary call, bringing his stack over 40,000.... To set the scene, the button and Patrick (in the blind) had gotten as far as the turn, with a board of Ks Jh 6c Qc. Patrick check-called what looked like about 5,000. The river: Jd Patrick checked again; the button bet (quickly) 12,000. This would have left Patrick with just under 10k if he called and lost. Eventually he made the call...with pocket Tens, and won! Roland has been re-raising my raises all night, getting in my head. I raised 3k with 9s from middle, roland raised up to 10k. Its 7k more, but if I call its all-in or fold really. I pushed, he turned over a real hand for once, jacks... he hit on the flop too to rub salt into the wound. The dream is over, I've had a great time but my heads done in a bit because I feel I could have gotten away from it, albeit crippled (again). Theres literally 1 hour to go, although I'd need another double up if I did fold. :( Lots of sad faces, etc etc. Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 09, 2006, 12:26:05 AM Ross Boatman - 17k (Any1 used to watch London's Burning?) Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: snoopy1239 on February 09, 2006, 01:48:21 AM Well, it's a been a long day. After 10 hours of travelling yesterday, I am now mentally and physically exhausted. Thankfully, my bed is nice and warm so, with a good's night sleep, I should be back in tip top condition again come tomorrow morning.
Personally, I'd like to thank Ben (Sunday8pm) for helping out earlier today. It was great to have him at hand when I needed a couple of hours in bed, so thx again. :)up What a star! Tikay's been his usual energetic self. Just like the godfather of soul, his batteries never seem to run out. See you all tomorrow peeps. As soon as Big TK sends over the final chip counts for Day 1, I'll stick them up. So watch this space. Over and out. If you can, can you look out for a Mr. O. Hikary for me? I think his first name is Oday but not sure of the spelling. He is a Pokerstars qualifier and I think he's representing Wales. Sorry for the vagueness but I don't have much info. I understand that you are busy so don't worry about it if you don't have a chance to look. Cheers, HS P.S. Great updates and good luck to all Blondes! Title: Re: PokerStars EPT - Deauville - Day One, Flight One Post by: zelda on February 09, 2006, 10:16:13 AM Can you confirm that Kp is still in please? Got back to my room to find Ewan Jones and John Kabaj in it having emptied my mini bar ordered room service and got a premium rate porn film on the TV.LOL. I have images in my mind of paying bill at reception ,like Alan Partridge, where she says and 14 euro for the porn Mr Cool. Hey just thought two boys in my room watchin porn i might have the last laugh after all.Off to play golf with Ram and Ross Boatman, had a quick game yesterday with Elblondie, Cascarino and Ewan Jones what a bunch of hackers!!Day two boys got 12 hours, of tough competition, i will pop in to cheer on the Blondites. Must bore you with a miracle escape by myself early in comp. I flat call on button with 7h 8h. Flop Kh Qc 4h First guy bet 700 next guy call rest pass i go all in for 4900. First guy counts out call bet and then asks the serial calling station how much he has, it is about 33k as he is tournament chip leader. Guy number two gets the hump and says to guy one 12k more than you so bet . Number one sees number two count out 21750 to set him in and decides to pass, number two shows me Kc Td and says i know you have Qs 4c. LOl i show 7h 8h and guy one says he passed Ahrt Qh noone belives him so he grabs his cards from the muck and shows exactly that OMG what an escape.
