The acting is first class and the comedy value is top notch ... and It is written by a chap called Paul Abbot, who happens to be the cousin of poker player Kevin O'Connell.
Also another top programme is "Life on mars" with phillip glennister and John Simms.. some superb comedy moments in that too. It's about a policeman who's been in some kind of an accident and somehow wakes up (well the viewer is never sure whether it's a dream or a coma or time travel) in the 1970's in a "Sweeny type scenario". So he has present day values which are contrasted against those of his colleagues. Damn good science-fantasy in my book, and highly recommended. Funniest TV moment for some time: in LOM where Simm sees the white dog-s***. It got me thinking... I think although good its a shame they don't make more of it.
It feels like the sweeney for kids. Shameless is great, but i think it has gone down hill this year, seems to be about lip all the time. Not enough Frank.
