Title: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: StuartHopkin on February 06, 2022, 01:33:55 PM Few warm up races at Leopardstown this afternoon..
5 weeks on Tuesday! Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on February 06, 2022, 03:26:01 PM That Dublin festival is a blinding weekend of racing.
Should get a firm together and go over one year! Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: booder on February 06, 2022, 03:30:27 PM That Dublin festival is a blinding weekend of racing. Should get a firm together and go over one year! Sounds like a plan. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: doubleup on February 06, 2022, 09:56:00 PM I was at the Musselburgh "trials" today. It was much much colder than when I visited various scandi countries in december and january. Even the sight of the masses of idiotically dressed ladies couldn't warm me up.
Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: TiredEyes on February 07, 2022, 11:38:36 AM Another year of Irish domination at Cheltenham I reckon, after watching that Dublin Festival over the weekend. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Doobs on February 07, 2022, 12:11:19 PM My Twitter timeline seems to feature both those who think the 7lb allowance is too much for mares and makes beating her impossible, and those who think Honeysuckle isn't all that as she is beating nothing.
Think the latter is on firmer ground, but you often get one horse that is very dominant in hurdling. Did Istabraq beat much, same with Baracuda and Big Bucks? FWIW Peak Timeform rating for Istabraq was 180, Honeysuckle is 165, so even with the Mare's allowance she'd get beaten according to then. Think it is probably closer than that, but I always thought Istabraq was beating nothing... Think you'd be struggling to name another mare any time recently that was so clear of her rivals, as even Dawn Run wasn't so clear of her rivals and Annie Power was a bit inconsistent. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on February 07, 2022, 11:07:11 PM She's very very good, and hopefully will hang around a few more years.
All she can do is keep winning races, and I'd love to see her keep racking them up. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: StuartHopkin on February 25, 2022, 10:50:47 AM Assuming Sky Bets 28 Races 28 Offers means 0 BOG?
Been reading this guys blog posts, pretty interesting https://www.handhracing.com/ (https://www.handhracing.com/) Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on February 25, 2022, 02:44:58 PM Can't bet to win more than a fiver with them, so no idea.
Lost BOG pretty lively after using the account, anyway :D Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: mondatoo on February 25, 2022, 06:10:19 PM Assuming Sky Bets 28 Races 28 Offers means 0 BOG? Been reading this guys blog posts, pretty interesting https://www.handhracing.com/ (https://www.handhracing.com/) Yeah, they usually don't do BOG on races with offers so would expect that'll be the case. I hate skybet, absolute scammers, click on my selection at 5/1 goes to betslip at 9/2 :( skimming the odds every fucking time and I'm a mug punter ! Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: StuartHopkin on March 15, 2022, 09:53:07 AM So quiet in here this year!
(https://media.giphy.com/media/5GoVLqeAOo6PK/giphy.gif) Seems like the offers in general have been greatly reduced. Really missing the standard £50 free bet from Bet365. Marky147 - It isn't Cheltenham without your pages and pages of bets! Doobs - any fancies? I've thrown darts all over the shop. Jonbon, Tellmesomethinggirl & Ebasari being the main ones today. A little bit of War Lord EW Got a nice bit of value with an Honeysuckle, Shishkin, Tiger Roll treble from a few months back at 55/1 Fingers crossed. Let's go! Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on March 15, 2022, 01:42:05 PM I've only got a couple bets this year, as I've pretty much left racing alone the last year or so.
I've got Galvin @ 33s for the GC from Xmas, and I did Minella Indo in a treble with 2 NFL games that pays about the same. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on March 15, 2022, 01:43:45 PM Had a free bet I chucked on Constituation/Edwardstone last night.

Post by: Doobs on March 15, 2022, 03:55:06 PM Just busy at the moment, got no decent accounts right now, so just doing quite a bit of messing about on Betfair like the old days. Had Edwardstone, as Keith was very positive a while ago and thought Epatante e/w was a bet with Honesuckle short and Appreciate It a bit first or nowhere.
Does anyone else still do the Ten To Follow? Am flying high in the free comp, which is a bit tilting as I didn't put that entry in the valuable paid comp. If I see anything for tomorrow, will mention it. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: StuartHopkin on March 16, 2022, 11:55:30 AM Would like a few favourites and Ahoy Senor today please!
Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Marky147 on March 16, 2022, 12:18:22 PM I'll miss the first few races as I'm off for my annual MOT at Poole with the Neuro.
13:30 - Whatdeawant 14:10 - Threeunderfive 14:50 - Camprond 15:30 - Envoi Allen 16:10 - Shady Operator 16:50 - Frero Banbou Gamboooooool! Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Doobs on March 16, 2022, 01:35:48 PM Think the Champion is a good e/w race because of the first two. Should be fine with many but am on Put The Kettle On and Envoi Allen. Would probably avoid Nube Negra on the ground, but thinking it runs regardless.
Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Doobs on March 16, 2022, 01:57:32 PM Absolute shambles watering last night with the rain forecast. I know it is a bit more rain than expected, but this was always a possibility. If you must water, surely plan for today, anf just see how much rain you get first. Need better risk modelling.

Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: Karabiner on March 16, 2022, 04:16:23 PM The great analogy "like having crazy-golf at The Open" was famously levelled at this race.
Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! Post by: arbboy on March 16, 2022, 04:30:58 PM that was a proper buckle with tiger to use a dog racing saying. Shame he isn't in the national after that slog fest for one last time. Stays longer than the mother in law even on bad ground

Just don't get why they couldn't run him in the National. Delta Work had a bit of class, the ground was awful for him, yet they both pulled well clear? How out can that National weight be? Was thinking the Delta Work vs Tiger Roll odds were wildly out this morning, but Tiger Roll could easily have finished well clear in this on better ground. Anyway, good luck in his retirement, probably done more than enough over the years. Title: Re: Cheltenham 2022! When the weights for the national first came out Elliot said there was every chance of Tiger running as "he has a nice weight this time". That was before O'Leary stuck his oar in. They really don't need to have given him the weight to guarantee he won. Think he'd have bound to have been single figures and have a better chance than 80% of the field. |
