Few warm up races at Leopardstown this afternoon..

That Dublin festival is a blinding weekend of racing.

Should get a firm together and go over one year!

I was at the Musselburgh "trials" today.  It was much much colder than when I visited various scandi countries in december and january.  Even the sight of the masses  of idiotically dressed ladies couldn't warm me up.

Another year of Irish domination at Cheltenham I reckon, after watching that Dublin Festival over the weekend.

My Twitter timeline seems to feature both those who think the 7lb allowance is too much for mares and makes beating her impossible, and those who think Honeysuckle isn't all that as she is beating nothing.

Think the latter is on firmer ground, but you often get one horse that is very dominant in hurdling.  Did Istabraq beat much, same with Baracuda and Big Bucks?  FWIW Peak Timeform rating for Istabraq was 180, Honeysuckle is 165, so even with the Mare's allowance she'd get beaten according to then.   Think it is probably closer than that, but I always thought Istabraq was beating nothing...

Think you'd be struggling to name another mare any time recently that was so clear of her rivals, as even Dawn Run wasn't so clear of her rivals and Annie Power was a bit inconsistent.

She's very very good, and hopefully will hang around a few more years.

All she can do is keep winning races, and I'd love to see her keep racking them up.

Yeah, they usually don't do BOG on races with offers so would expect that'll be the case.

I hate skybet, absolute scammers, click on my selection at 5/1 goes to betslip at 9/2  :( skimming the odds every fucking time and I'm a mug punter !

I've only got a couple bets this year, as I've pretty much left racing alone the last year or so.

I've got Galvin @ 33s for the GC from Xmas, and I did Minella Indo in a treble with 2 NFL games  that pays about the same.

Had a free bet I chucked on Constituation/Edwardstone last night.

Just busy at the moment, got no decent accounts right now, so just doing quite a bit of messing about on Betfair like the old days.   Had Edwardstone, as Keith was very positive a while ago and thought Epatante e/w was a bet with Honesuckle short and Appreciate It a bit first or nowhere.

Does anyone else still do the Ten To Follow?   Am flying high in the free comp, which is a bit tilting as I didn't put that entry in the valuable paid comp.

Think the Champion is a good e/w race because of the first two.  Should be fine with many but am on Put The Kettle On and Envoi Allen.   Would probably avoid Nube Negra on the ground, but thinking it runs regardless.

Absolute shambles watering last night with the rain forecast.  I know it is a bit more rain than expected, but this was always a possibility.  If you must water, surely plan for today, anf just see how much rain you get first.    Need better risk modelling.

Just don't get why they couldn't run him in the National.  Delta Work had a bit of class, the ground was awful for him, yet they both pulled well clear?  How out can that National weight be?   Was thinking the Delta Work vs Tiger Roll odds were wildly out this morning, but Tiger Roll could easily have finished well clear in this on better ground.

Anyway, good luck in his retirement, probably done more than enough over the years.  

When the weights for the national first came out Elliot said there was every chance of Tiger running as "he has a nice weight this time".

That was before O'Leary stuck his oar in.

Yeah, I heard that.  They really don't need to have given him the weight to guarantee he won.  Think he'd have bound to have been single figures and have a better chance than 80% of the field.
