Dublin Millions Day 1

All packed last night and currently on the train to Gatwick.
Anyone who has been to Gillingham/ Chatham in kent (I wouldn’t recommend it) will know it’s a fairly interesting place, so was fairly fortunate to only be approached by one drunken man In Costa at 7am this morning.

Flying with Ryanair at 11.25, so I would hope to be in the hotel for 1.30ish. I am just over the road from the Intercontinental Hotel where the event is being hosted.
The €400 mystery bounty is the first comp of the schedule and starts at 2pm today. Not sure if I’ll make the start but plan to be sat by 3 at the latest so might miss the first couple of levels.

Will aim to do regular updates and see if we can get some action on the thread!

Millions Day 2

Last night was fairly uneventful, played cash for a bit and enjoyed a few pints of Guiness. Was sat next to a guy who owns/ set up Pokerbros. Good guy and was a good vibe at the table!
Descended into a little bit of fun with the €5 button game coming in and got up to some good amounts! I won one with €115 on it!

Losing session though, same older guy won 3 all ins off me. The worst being running it twice with 99 v his K6, first board king high, second flop x66

Then got stacked off in a 1200 pot with aces where we 3b to after guy opens to 45 on a straddle

And we get it in on KQx dd (we have ace diamonds) and he has a set of queens

So not good. But means we are saving the run good for the comp today!

The main starts today at 1pm. But the plan is to play the €400 mystery bounty at midday with it going straight into day 2 tif we can get through. Slightly shorter clock today (20mins) but similar to yesterday.

Will add to stake, with this and the extra 400 bullet will even out the 750 Dublin cup that probably can’t play now with the main tomorrow

Had a few drinks with Firaldo last night, after playign some PLO cash. Had a decent sun but the games are pretty mad.

Has been a good day today. As I’ve got slightly older (not saying I’m too old just yet at 31!) the idea of sitting in a poker room 13/14 hours a day 3/4 days in a row really doesn’t excite me!

Late Regged the sat, and bust 16th with 3 seats. So no real sweat.

Got Ah Kh 6s 5s in Utg with 7 bigs three ways and was ahead in the turn but lost to a rivered gutshot.

Apart from that, no poker today. Did some work and came into Dublin for a Nando’s.

Currently perched in an Irish bar, enjoying a pint of Guiness listening to some live music. Seems ideal prep for the 3k tomorrow.
Super excited, nothing really matches playing a big comp! They have changed the structure slightly, so day 1 is 10x 1hr levels. 50k start and last level is 800/1600 so really is plenty of time

Also possible for an overlay. Has been talk of a lot of satty qualifiers/ weekend guys coming in for tomorrow but I think only had 50 runners or so for first 2 day ones. So need 200 tomorrow.

Up early, well ish!

Did some work, been on a walk and eaten from a local salad/ deli. Did a really good Harissa chicken crunch bowl. Few of the other lads been saying it’s really good and it didn’t disappoint.
The hotel is in a really smart area but also means food isn’t the cheapest! I’m not tight(I don’t think) but £29 for a chicken burger seemed steep. In any case the walk and food is a good start to the day.

Starting in 15 mins, table 22 seat 7 which looks like a good seat in the middle of the room. Anyone else about come say hi! Will be interesting to see how many runners they get today.

50k start. 10x 1hr levels with last level 800/1600/1600 so a long day but a really good structure.

Not as good second level. No disaster but down to 49k.

Pretty gutted in all honesty. Haven’t played again today, just chilled in my hotel room/ watched some football and booked a flight back home for tomorrow morning.

Thought I played some half decent poker this week, and never felt out of place.

Three key hands in big moments where we got them in way ahead:

Last level of mystery bounty: KQ v 99 all in on Q J 8 and lose. Would have been massive stack for second day

3k main day 1: good table and playing a good day 1 before Aces V queens Q high flop. Would have been 100k stack and we’ll set

Millions day 2: KK v AQ, window card ace for 120k stack and back in the game


Gutted as i said but what can you do. As always massively appreciate the backing/ support. I always take not returning anything personally and feel like I’ve let you all down!
Not much more I could have done with how it played out.

Have really enjoyed doing the updates. I followed Stus in the summer and miss the threads/ rail/ diaries from back in the day!

Wont be playing much soon, but next time I do a poker road trip will put back on blonde for another sweat!
