Title: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: AlrightJack on May 31, 2025, 09:33:54 AM I’m writing a series of articles throughout the WSOP, following the fortunes of Brits (including Blondes) at the WSOP and other Las Vegas events this summer. Here’s the latest piece in the series, including a section on Blondes in Vegas. Hope it’s OK to post these here?

And please do keep posting these here along with anything else that takes your fancy. One small matter I feel I need to address, because I don't want an error or untruth to perpetuate. "Tony Kendall, who is already in Las Vegas, but apparently doesn’t need backing this year, as he’s won so much money sharking people on the golf course" Any money I win on the Golf Course I thoroughly deserve, as it partly makes up for the humiliation I suffer at the hands of my "mates" every time we play. When we are on the Tee waiting for the group in front to clear, as soon as they are about 100 yards ahead, some wag always rolls out the old "it's OK for you to tee off now Tony". And whilst I maybe don't need backing this year, I do actually have a significant backer to whom I'm very grateful. All joking aside he's become almost my mental coach. No matter who you are, if you play 3 or 4 Tourneys in a row & come up dry, some reassurance & encouragement is worth a very great deal, especially to someone like me with super flaky self-confidence & a lack of self-esteem. And he never lets me down. Anyway, do please keep posting Mr R. I had planned to post a lot on blonde whist in Vegas & hopefully still will but extreme fatigue (of the nice kind) has won the battle so far. Long days having fun at poker tables is exceptionally tiring these days, both physically & mentally, & when I get back to my room I just fall asleep. Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: AlrightJack on June 02, 2025, 01:29:41 PM Latest article just published, including a further update on Tikay's adventures!

UK Poker is missing these sort of reports, they used to be ten-a-penny but these days they are almost extinct. I won't be rude & ask direct, but I do hope you are able to monetise these in some way, & get some reward for your time & effort. Incidentally, even to this day, when I see or hear your name, I always think of you as the Father of the GUKPT which has been running 19 years now &, in one way or another, with it's various offspring, is far & away the premier UK Tour. And as you may have seen & been reminded on blonde recently, you were Mr Usual Suspects too. Your contribution to UK Tournament poker is unrivalled. And now I suppose I'd best go do some more Diaryage that maybe catches your eye. I agree with Tikay, I always think of you and your accomplishments in the early days guiding the GUKPT to where it is today. Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: AlrightJack on June 06, 2025, 02:03:58 PM Latest Report of Brits in Action in Las Vegas:

I don't know if your remit extends into matters of Staking, but someone told me yesterday (may not be true) that Benny Glaser was selling action for his WSOP stuff at rates ranging from 1.05 to 1.35. Any idea if that's true? If so, I'm quite surprised he'd even sell action. Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: Doobs on June 06, 2025, 08:33:17 PM Another excellent article, thanks Mr R. It may well have just been 10ks though. I didn't buy any btw Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: AlrightJack on June 10, 2025, 11:20:15 PM Couple more articles since I last posted them here.

That must have been best part of 15 years ago. Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: celtic on June 11, 2025, 07:13:50 PM Bugger! Dont know how I've managed to miss these updates. He's been mainly turning up on the same flights as me, or stays at a 'friends' half a mile from where I stay in England for a few days or when I'm in Scotland he 'surprises' me and tell me he's close by if I want to meet up. Yet somehow we have avoided each other for the last few years (outside of poker events) despite living a few miles apart in Malta. As Celtic says, we've ended up on the same flight to and from the UK randomly, usually on adjacent rows, at least three times. To help prevent this occurrence we usually share travel dates, but when we forget to, it always seems to happen. :D Title: Re: Brits at the 2025 WSOP Post by: AlrightJack on June 15, 2025, 03:48:00 PM No further reports on Tikay’s adventures in the latest couple of Britpack updates, but will likely include again in the next edition. In the second of these, two, i’ve included memories of Mickey Wernick.
