I have been living away from home for about 10 years, but have used her ample storage space on many occassions when I move from place to place. So early doors yesterday, squashed in between two poker tourney's I was in the neighbourhood and did the decent thing. What memories I have found. Every school book aged 4 - 11. Every merit/reward/certificate I ever recieved inc uni sport and academic. Programme from my first gig. (End of the road tour 1984 - NEC - Was supposed to be Status Quo's last ever gig I was 9 and influenced by Dad) Thousands of little lead fantasy/space creatures - some amazingly hand painted by me. A Tennis racket - thats funny. My first football match programme - Arsenal vs Norwich 9th dec 1978 I was 3, he believed in blooding me early it appears. Wembly final programmes 78/79/80 - littlewoods cup vs Luton About 150 fishing/golf books. Score cards from St Andrews, Gleneagles, Sandwich, Panina and loads more. A sighned Status Quo photo circa 1983ish Signed Paul Okenfold posters Ibiza 99/00 Glastonbury photo's from about last 15 years. Subbutteo - loads of the stuff - Some teams hand painted, all named. Woman in Black programme - Fortune theatre A completed 1988 football sticker album. How to play poker and win - A channel 4 book. The list goes on and on - it doesn't really poker obviously ruined my life. So during the dank cold days of winter - when life seems dull and it all just gets you down Empty your Mums loft you never know what you will find. Now to ebay. We are talking alot of photo's however I like the excuse to get some on the PC. Will sort through some of the better ones and get some scanned at work this week and Pm you at weeks end. i went to work in glasto one year in the medical tent. im a psychiatric nurse and had to look after all the paranoid people whos mental health problem had been as a result of their drug use, lack of sleep or both. i cant say how much i enjoyed it although caring for 10 paranoid people at the one time is a challenge when they are all winding each other up and most of the staff are so stoned you end up looking after them as well. asuming that is, that they turned up for their shift at all. on the bright side though, i got to take a pal and live in the 'luxury' camp site with real toilets and showers.. it was a great 5 days mad Title: Re: O/T - Empty that loft ! Hats off to you on your choice of profession and those that choose to give their time at glasto deserve a pat on the back - helps keep the whole thing going. I'm not sure trying the latest CBT tehniques at Glasto would be my idea of fun, but I have sheltered in the farmhouse a time or two. Title: Re: O/T - Empty that loft ! Its at my dads house, and we havent spoken for about 5 years. I know that there are the WHOLE SET of ORIGIONAL big tonka toys - you know the sturdy metal ones. Also, a table top soccer game, with the men made of lead. Also, a working (with steam and everything) steam engine - runs on parafin. Now I would hate to know exactly what those are worth, but I would guess it runs into the £1000's :( Oh how I wish I didnt fall out with him. Title: Re: O/T - Empty that loft ! Post by: charmaine on February 12, 2006, 06:04:28 PM When we were younger Mum and Dad sold there caravan to people from Wales , under the bunks were all photos and everything else of sentimental value , i asked Dad when one day while we were talking about it why didnt he get them back and he said " i wasnt going to Wales just for that !!! " ... typical bloody Dad >:( so glad his mellowed with the years lol
