Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: tikay on February 14, 2006, 08:43:50 PM So, after Updating non-stop for 4 days, and not so much touching a card, the Deauville Main Event ends, & we all rush off to get some SNG action. "Sorry, too late, you can't play". Damn. So your intrepid Updaters - snoops, Ben, Alright Jack, Flushy, special part-time Updater Jen (...!!) , & me, all decide to go to snoops Hotel room to get some poker action. "It's a 5 minute walk" says snoops. 4 miles then. I've got a short sleeve shirt & no coat, it's -4c, & there is frost everywhere. 4 miles is more like 8 miles. Flushy has a blister, & can barely hobble, snails are overtaking us. 6 hours later - it seemed like 12 - we arrive at snoops hotel. All squeeze into the world's smllest lift, and are soon in snoops room. Except it's beyond snoops ingenuity to turn on the lights in his room, so we all stand in the dark for 10 minutes, while he fiddles with the light switch. Complicated things - you know, "OFF", "ON", but it's too much for snoops, & he fails to manage it, so we all troop back down to the lounge, where it's lovely & warm, almost 0c. Ben is dealing, & snoops is playing all lairy. I'm on the Button, with K-T, snoops is in the Blinds with J-8, & we see this flop. Ks Jh Tc So, I've hit two pair, snoops has middle pair. Snoops bets out, I move in. snoops starts dwelling, I try a little trash talk, & decide to show him one card - my Th. Mistake! I assumed a reasonably intelligent being would realise that was my UNDERCARD, but snoops walks into it, "oh, it's the Ten, I've hit the J, I must be ahead, & he calls. "Fish!" rings out round Deauville, & we all crack up as I reveal my two Pairs, Kings & Tens. snoops is devestated. "I thought I was winning as you showed the Ten". Turn card - Jc My uppance was come. I'd like to point out that the flop was Kh Jh Tc Plus, you bet, I reraised, then you moved all-in. You just have to face facts tikay... you were outplayed. ::) ::) ::) Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: tikay on February 14, 2006, 08:51:34 PM Outfished more like. How COULD you call?

Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: RED-DOG on February 14, 2006, 09:08:40 PM Except it's beyond snoops ingenuity to turn on the lights in his room, so we all stand in the dark for 10 minutes, while he fiddles with the light switch. Complicated things - you know, "OFF", "ON", but it's too much for snoops He's not that good with car parks either...... Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: snoopy1239 on February 14, 2006, 09:11:13 PM Except it's beyond snoops ingenuity to turn on the lights in his room, so we all stand in the dark for 10 minutes, while he fiddles with the light switch. Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: tikay on February 14, 2006, 09:11:15 PM lol poor Tikay :DÂ another misread eh ;) I HAD TWO PAIR. HE HAD ONE PAIR! Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: Royal Flush on February 14, 2006, 10:49:08 PM I'm not going to even comment, i won 1 hand all night.
We even played 2 more games on the train the next day, i was out on hand 1 in both....lol Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: Djinn on February 15, 2006, 01:37:19 AM Flushy - While it is true that the saddest hand of the night was that J8 I think you must be commiserated with for doing, overall, so badly. Fancy your trying to take QQ against my AQ... The sit'n'go demigod was unkind to you.
Snoopy - I think the hotel staff were trying to be kind when they told you it was a 'localised power cut' (your TV worked) Tikay - The moral of this story is don't try anything fancy on the sophistication-challenged like Snoopy Snoopy again - Serves you right that you couldn't work the lights since you had a jacuzzi all week ;) Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: tikay on February 15, 2006, 01:40:45 AM Jen, as ever, via the medium of "inventive English", comes up with a stunner. "sophistication-challenged snoops". Gotta love that! Wottdya say to that snoops? PS Jen - thanks for all your help in Deauville. You are the business. But kudos too, to Ben, Jonathon & the sophistication-challenged beagle. Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: RED-DOG on February 15, 2006, 01:46:07 AM He is romanticaly challenged too

Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: RED-DOG on February 15, 2006, 02:25:19 AM Is it her birthday? Sigh, the worrying thing is, he may not be joking Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: tikay on February 15, 2006, 02:26:39 AM He's clearly sophistication-challenged. Jen gets it right again. Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: Robert HM on February 15, 2006, 02:30:42 AM I suggest she looks towards the more mature man.
Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: Trace on February 15, 2006, 09:11:43 AM He is romanticaly challenged too His intended informs me that he did NOT send her a card To be fair Red, I think there is a black hole in the sorting offices around the country that some of these cards fall into. I didn't get one either, not that I was expecting one off Snoops btw. My 9 year old son gets 2 (ok one was off me), but I didn't get ANY!!!!! Title: Re: MESSAGE FOR TIKAY Post by: Rod Paradise on February 15, 2006, 09:56:37 AM He is romanticaly challenged too His intended informs me that he did NOT send her a card School-boy error Snoops!!! ;yellowcard; >:?
