Title: Sleeping on it Post by: AndrewT on February 17, 2006, 11:52:36 AM "When it comes to making tough decisions - don't sweat it, sleep on it - or so a team of scientists recommends.
A Dutch study suggests complex decisions like buying a car can be better made when the unconscious mind is left to churn through the options." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4723216.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4723216.stm) I can just see it now - final table of the World Series, and a player faces a huge decision for all of his chips. "Could someone bring me my Thinking Pillow and my Concentration Duvet?" This phenomenon is something I'm sure we've all experienced anyway. We've all struggled over some question or problem for hours, yet woken up the next morning with the answer falling out of our heads. It also ties in to a post I made a week or so ago about 'gut feeling' or instinct at the poker table. All the information we take in finds its way to our brain and can percolate nicely as we sleep, ready to influence our decision the next time we play.
