So Snoopy and I are taking turns sneaking a peek at the early action (10,000 chips and 25 - 50 blinds) and fiddling with the settings on our three, useless, laptops.  Never mind - this computer has been generously allocated by the cardroom and you will have to deal with a schizophrenic mix of the two of us to update you on the action.

Photos are already on their way (Snoops' trip to Tesco bore lots of battery-shaped fruit) and Rhow is here being snapped and snapping others at the same time. 

Our screen is literally inches away from Mr. Cool Marc Goodwin, who seems keener on getting shown around the nuts and bolts of such technical delights as email and forum management than the early stages of this comp.  In fact, what I thought was a Gameboy Advance is apparently a little device for watching movies on (or so he tells me) and I wouldn't be surprised if he started multitasking the poker with Toy Story 2...

Tikay is apparently on 22,000 chips, but that information is from Snoops and we all know how far to trust information like that...

Not to put a damp towel over the early celebrating, but Mr. t actually has more like 11,000.  I know as I just counted them.  He's sat next to Iwan Jones, and requested that "If you want a photo of Iwan, you'd better get it quick."  Think that might be something to do with the fact that Iwan's down to around 7k...

There are important news snippets to convey such as... Roland de Wolfe is OUT

Apparently the first level came to an end just around the time he did - firstly a slightly odd coup in which his flopped two pair against the nut flush took about half his chips (and there was some confusion as to whether he was called or raised, but either way the money went in).  THEN he found the  8c 9c which fit a little too well with the  7c Tc Ahrt flop... but the  Aspades  Jc he was up against won in the end.

So another cheerfully early exit for Mr. DW who apparently has been making a bit of a habit of it (although making his buy-ins back online in minutes...)

One of these was in rather dramatic fashion against Simon Zach - on a board of  2h 2s 3h 4h 6h guess who held the old  5c 5h?

As for Stuart Nash, he is here, and on 7,600 chips.  I think he was wearing an invisibility cape when Snoopy passed his table.  Or he could have been in the loo.

tikay said, "He got up, shook everyone's hand, thanked them all for the delightful game and walked away," at which point everyone started laughing.  No idea why.

In a rare act of something resembling charity, Woody Deck, in the process of turning 24,000 chips to 0 in 20 minutes, made a big move with  6d 4d against El Blondie's raise from the blind.  He found a call and a victorious  Ac Kc, however, and the blond one is up to around 20k.

Also on his table, however, Nottingham Nick is sitting pretty with over 30,000...

Has his car been clamped ?

I don't know anything about cars, Karabiner, and it's a good thing because Snoopy gave me a lift here... he says his problem areas include reversing, parking and going fast.

Double Up For The Dog -

He got the stack in with the old  Kh  Kc against Womble with the  Ad Kd, and a Queen-high board emerging with too few diamonds to be threatening meant that Red-Dog is back up to around 14,000.

DC's been moved to his table, and also perched around there are Robert Cooper, Mickey Wernick and Joe Grech.  Interesting...

Anyway, Nottingham Nick's stack just took a hit, when he re-raised preflop with  Kc Kd (as you do).  The flop came with two Aces on it though, and faced with a check-raise all-in he eventually called to be shown the post-flop monster  Ahrt 5h.  But still, 15,000 is around average, and is what Nick has now.

The Mad Turk, after a storming start, has stormed back down to 1,200.  A lot of damage was done when he raised to 1,200 with pocket Sevens, was re-raised 3,600 by ActionJack.  Not scared in the least, he moved all-in for 10k, and was called by the  Kd Kc, as you may expect.

tikay's final hand was  Tc Td which he found against an under the gun raiser (not just any raiser, but the Rag-ace raiser who caught him earlier in the week).  He decided to flat call the 2,500 and on the  Qh  9c 6d flop he went for it when the UTG guy moved in.  But he had  Kh Qd, had hit the flop (again) and took tikay's stack.  Again.

At almost exactly the same time, Iwan Jones makes a slightly irritated exit after the following took place:

There was an early raiser, and Iwan found  Ahrt Kh.  He re-raised fairly heftily (5k I think it was) and found the big blind moving in over the top for another 8k or so.  This was enough for the original raiser (who said he folded Nines) but Iwan decided to give it a go and called.  What was he up against?  Kd Qd.

What did the board bring?  Among other things, a  9s Th Jc....

It was £1,000.  tikay points out that there was a Juice-Free Week here in sunny Birmingham...

Mad Turk is OUT, depsite growing his 1200 stack to over 12k, he somehow became involved on a 6h 4h Ts flop.

He was checkraised all in after betting 2.5k on the flop.

Maddy Turkey had Th Qc against Mateyboy's bullets (pow pow)

King and Jack on the turn and river made everyone check for a straight, but he didn't have one.

An up and down on the river though. Just a shame it's not an 8 card game.
