Title: It's a hard life. Post by: Robert HM on July 02, 2005, 02:25:44 AM Just got back from the Gutshot thinking "aren't I lucky, I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow and got to some far off airport. I don't have to endure so many hours of circulated air on a plane. I don't have to re-aclimatise myself nor contend with jet-lag. Further more I won't don't have to listen to people telling me how wonderful their U S of A is for the world. I won't have to struggle through queues to register and pay. I won't have to find energy from "somewhere" to cope with late nights in card rooms......... it's not working is it? Yes I am jealous.
Good luck to all those going bring back a bracelet or two and take some of that folding stuff of the locals. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 02:39:56 AM Thanks Robert. I know how lucky I am. I may not bring back any money, but I'll sure tell you who does. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Sunday8pm on July 02, 2005, 02:46:52 AM hi robert,
me and a friend are going to start going to the gutshot as of next week, any ideas if you are going next week? we are both looking to further our progression in poker to live cash games, of which i have very little experience! would be good if we could meet a fellow blonde to socialise with as it would be our first ever visit to the gutshot. thanks sunday Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Djinn on July 02, 2005, 03:01:49 AM Hi Sunday,
As an ex-Gutshot dealer I can tell you that you will find an informal atmosphere which is usually crowded to the gills with happy poker players - especially the 5 night on tuesday which tends to sell out around 7pm, so get there reasonably early. Oh and dress for the tropics. Have fun Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 03:21:48 AM "Dress for the tropics"? Can I wear my shorts then? Hi Jen! Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: londonpokergirl on July 02, 2005, 03:24:31 AM lol when me, jen, eugene and others went on wednesday the air con was up the creek
and felt about 90 degrees with only 80 people in there. Not an ideal situation Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Sunday8pm on July 02, 2005, 03:57:35 AM thanks jen,
would be nice to see some of you in person sometime, you all seem really friendly and it would be good to make friends in the poker world. grand job with the updates jen and tikay you run a fantastic website. i would be grateful if you could pm me in advance if your going to the gutshot then i can get my ass down there. many thanks sunday Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 09:42:59 AM Hi Sunday,
We will be at the same venue soon enough, then we can all hook up & maybe have a drink. It's so much nicer to put faces to names, except in the case of, say, Red-Dog, who's really quite dreadful. Just a small point - I dion't run the site, I'm just the bit you see. There is also Dave Colclough, Rhowena, Jo, & now Jen. But I suppose I am the prettiest one. I do hope you visit our Home Page too - all sorts of stuff on there. Streaming Videos of players, Tournament Reports, News (including news that El Blondie has changed sponsors), Articles, & stuff. Lots of stuff. Take care, & see you soon. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Robert HM on July 02, 2005, 09:48:37 AM we are both looking to further our progression in poker to live cash games, of which i have very little experience! Hello sunday As jen says it is friendly place but the air-conditioning is knackered at the moment and, as of last night, the only fan lies crippled on the floor. You say you want to try a "cash" game, is that instead of a tournament or a way of describing a non-internet game. Not sure when or if I will be there next week, Brighton beckons for at least Friday onwards. I didn't decide to go last night 'til I got a call from a friend suggesting the trip. If I go soon I will give you as much notice as possible. Which area do you live, are you part of the Sutton lot? Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Robert HM on July 02, 2005, 09:54:23 AM There is also Dave Colclough, Rhowena, Jo, & now Jen. But I suppose I am the prettiest one. That's a bit unfair on Dave ::) Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: ariston on July 02, 2005, 09:56:04 AM hmmm Rhowena or Tikay? Which one would you prefer to wake up to?
Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 10:17:02 AM Unfair on Dave? Dont care, we've hada bit of a fall out.
El Blondie insists on calling me Ol Blondie. But that's maybe 'cos he's worried that Rhow's got the hots for me. Ol Blondie indeed. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Robert HM on July 02, 2005, 10:23:09 AM Unfair on Dave? Dont care, we've hada bit of a fall out. El Blondie insists on calling me Ol Blondie. But that's maybe 'cos he's worried that Rhow's got the hots for me. Ol Blondie indeed. That is a terrible thing to say to you, I wouldn't stand for it. I suggest you treat this as a point of principle and refuse to go to Vegas!!. I, always willing to help, volunteer to go in your place, transfering your ticket to me, and give him a piece of your mind. The things I would do for you hey! Now where's my shorts, I've got packing to do. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 10:31:39 AM Or I could just get rid of El Blondie, send him home. Who's he think he is? Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: dan on July 02, 2005, 10:57:39 AM talking of vegas, and putting faces to names im going over from birmingham on the 6th on my own. It would be nice to meet a few people and perhaps share a few drinks. are there any plans to meet up over there tikay??
Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: RED-DOG on July 02, 2005, 11:02:26 AM Hello sunday As jen says it is friendly place but as of last night, the only fan lies crippled on the floor. Sounds like a post match report from Brentford FC Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 11:04:21 AM Yes Dan.
There is talk of a Karting Day, and a few other things. But all blondeites in Vegas are invited to dinner with me, and I'm in the chair. Logistics being what they are, I doubt if we can get them all together on a single night, so we will do it 2 or 3 times to ensure we all get to meet each other. And maybe a "farewell evening" before we all come home. Hopefully, by then, we will all have made a lot more friends. Make sure you make yourself known to me when you arrive, & I will introduce you to as many blondeites as possible. Safe journey. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 11:08:13 AM Oh no, Red-Dog has just got outa bed, & has passed the computer on the way from the kitchen to the sofa.
Look Red. Your missus has been away for 2 weeks. She comes home tomorrow. You aint washed a pot since she left, shown the floor a hoover, dusted, made the bed. Time you got busy, you will be DEAD if she comes home & finds the mess you have made. Even tikay has gotta have a tidy up. The Cat Sitter is popping round shortly, to make plans for my absence, she'll have a fit when she sees this tip..... Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: dan on July 02, 2005, 11:10:16 AM thanks tikay thats really good. as i said i fly on the 6th i arrive in LV about 330pm im staying at the rio. Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: RED-DOG on July 02, 2005, 11:19:00 AM Yes, she's back tomorrow, yippee! and yes, Im cleaning like mad. I still say its best to let things get properly dirty before you clean them but she cant see the logic

Tikay I was going to ask what is attracting the glamour to the forum but I think the answer will be predictable (cue tikay dabbing Old Spice behind his ears) Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: RED-DOG on July 02, 2005, 12:54:25 PM Hello Maureen, do you come here often?

Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: tikay on July 02, 2005, 01:33:06 PM Like most of the guys on here, Red is married, so that puts him off limits even to one as stunningly beautiful as Maureen. I say "most", cos I'm single.
Title: Re: It's a hard life. Post by: Robert HM on July 02, 2005, 01:36:09 PM There seems to be a presumption that Maureen is single.
