Post by: SupaMonkey on February 22, 2006, 05:41:11 PM If i only had about 30secs to think about this then i would have called and re evaluated on the river however i think that this would have been the wrong play. If he is a good player (as you say) then he must have had a high pp on the flop because he just flat called your preflop raise with the original bettor still to act. This could be totally wrong but i would lean towards laying this down here. You have shown a lot of strength and he has chosen to wait until the turn before raising you. I think he has the nuts and is milking you.

With a small to medium raise he may feel pot committed and call. This would leave me with a fold or all in decision. Personally I would go all in and wouldn't be surprised if he had the same hand as you. Of course I am a ;fish; and could be talking tosh, but for me it's all in. I would suggest he has a set of 7's or 8's judging by the betting but he could also have the same or very similar to you, if you dont think this player would be putting 40% of his stack in here with one pair you have to decide if he has two pair and you are in front or a set in which case you are sruggling. I would fold as you have not commited a huge % of your stack.
I would not be shocked if you told us you called and he turned over 9 10 of diamonds tho.....and he hit. :kiv:....no limit decisions are sooo tough. Title: Re: Cash Game: Do you call the raise? Crazy Jack is quite loose agg so you might reraise him with a fair range but still I would be surprised if a "good player" called a reraise with AQ, but given the stacks he could well call with a pp.
I would have been worried about the flop call and although you have improved, I might check the turn here. I don't think that giving a free card is a big deal given the limited range of his likely holdings. The way played I would have to fold because my whole stack is at risk. He is a good player who flat called out of position after a raise and a re-raise pre-flop. You showed strength on the flop and the turn, and yet he is clearly still gunning for your whole stack. I don't see what he can have other than a medium pocket pair that has struck gold. Good fold in my book.
