Title: Me and Micky Post by: snoopy1239 on February 23, 2006, 03:27:07 AM This happened to me tonight at the Walsall Midlands Medley £300 freezout event.
Blinds = 300/600 I'm on 5.3k and on the button. All fold round. I have Kd 7d Two tight players to my left, so I decide to flatcall with the intention of betting the flop if they both check. Although tight, one of them is Micky Wernick, who is capable of spotting a button steal. He only has around 7k, so could easily move over the top of me and force me to fold. Flop = 2h 4d 7c Both check, I bet 1k. Micky reraises another 1.5k. What should I do? Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: Wardonkey on February 23, 2006, 07:07:39 AM You should slap yourself for limping in.
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: Wardonkey on February 23, 2006, 07:09:59 AM Then push all your chips in.
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: ACE2M on February 23, 2006, 10:08:15 AM ditch it
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: thetank on February 23, 2006, 10:30:55 AM Then push all your chips in. Against Micky....... I stick my wad in on that flop. Much prefer flopping top pair with the 7 rather than the King. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: thetank on February 23, 2006, 10:37:39 AM Against Brian Wilson.....I fold :D
Nah, I'd still stick my green in. He would have raised pre-flop with anything connecting to that board. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: ACE2M on February 23, 2006, 10:48:56 AM I think that you think that mickey thinks you are stealing and shift your chips in to pick it up.
Unfortunately for you mickey has flopped middle set and you are heading for the rail. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: yt on February 23, 2006, 11:42:08 AM I think that you think that mickey thinks you are stealing and shift your chips in to pick it up. NO NO NO!Unfortunately for you mickey has flopped middle set and you are heading for the rail. It's obviously the bottom set.... Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: thetank on February 23, 2006, 12:12:35 PM I call it the bar but fair enough.
I'm not good enough to lay down top pair with less than 10BB. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 23, 2006, 01:11:53 PM You should slap yourself for limping in. I agree. If you're gonna limp with the intention of stealing then you shouldn't be limping in the first place. All-in preflop then you don't have to make difficult decisions here. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: jezza777 on February 23, 2006, 02:11:03 PM move in
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: ifm on February 23, 2006, 11:12:41 PM i'm putting Micky on 2 pair here, most likely 74 so i pass, easy game innit?
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: Dubai on February 24, 2006, 01:12:03 AM Just raise pre. With your stack Mickey aint going to re-raise you without a big hand.
Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: KeithyB on February 24, 2006, 11:02:13 AM I agree with the raise pre flop comments but of course that's not the question being asked. ;D
I'm only going to partially answer the actual question myself though! Snoopy, as you clearly know this Micky and have an idea of his style/ability you are in a far better position to decide what to do here than anyone who doesn't know Micky :) Usually given this situation I'd be thinking I was likely ahead and move the chips in. However if your knowledge of this player means this re-raise indicates a likely monster (trips?) then obviously you fold. Title: Re: Me and Micky Post by: KeithyB on February 24, 2006, 11:12:47 AM After the last post I had the horrible thought that maybe I should know who this Mickey Wernick is!
I just got the impression from the inital post that he was an amateur player who dabbled a bit in his local casino ??? So I thought I'd google the name just to put my mind at rest................ooops....my mistake !! :blonde: Changed my mind.......he's good ...he's great.....fold........FOLD!! ;tightend; |
