Title: N/P Recipe for the Monkey....
Post by: Rod Paradise on February 26, 2006, 04:31:31 PM
Banana Bread

1/2 cup cooking oil
3 eggs (beaten - good beat though - not bad beat)
3 ripe bananas (mashed, note bananas going slightly over-ripe are best - buy the last day sale ones)
2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup of nuts (optional)

Beat oil & sugar together. Add eggs & mashed banans & beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, milk & vanilla. Mix well and stir in the nuts (if wanted). Pour into a greased & floured loaf plan (9x5x3 inches). Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350F) for about 1 hour. Cool well & store overnight before cutting. Enjoy.

Other Recipes in the book include, shrimp & banana curry, banana cream pie, & banana meringue pudding. Each recipe available - 1 pint each ;)

PS Cheers Robert for pointing out the one typo  ;tk; (pretty good for me actually ;) )

Some yummy bannana recipes

http://www.hookerycookery.com/banana-menu.htm

I have cooked a few of these recipes from this site.

I wouldn't want to try and predict what a monkey would actually like. So I will leave it up to you, Matt.  But if I could recoment the following recipes, Banana Nut Pancakes, Banana Fritters and Banana Split. They are all top tasty recipes.

I am going to try that recipe by Rod,  that looks good.
