Title: Ladbrokes and 100% cpu utilisation
Post by: marcro on February 26, 2006, 07:04:46 PM
Any other Laddies users experiencing this and if so, any known work arounds?  When I load the Laddies software it seems to hog the cpu and most of the time I am running at 100% cpu utilisation.  No such problems with any other poker sites though.  Thanks.

if cpu means screen and the programme takes up your whole screen, then have you tried to change the resolution of the screen?

I've had similar problems in the past with Microgaming sites.  The cause was Norton Antivirus software which triggered some sort of incompatibility with it.  If you are running this then disable it briefly to see if it drops the CPU usage.  After that, contact the site, although they may not be much help in actually solving the problem (mine just went away after an update).

When I was using my old pc (about 3 years old), I found that I couldn't even have IE running while Laddies was on...and even then if I hadn't opened it from a fresh reboot then it was very very slow.

It's probably good pratice to reboot before you enter a comp anyway, less chance of your machine crashing mid game.

I do run Norton and remember that there was a problem with this some time ago which is probably the problem again.  I am not too keen to turn my virus protection off though.  Thanks for the replies.

This is the exact point I made to them at the time I had issues.  However, you can do a disable for 1 minute from Norton which will tell you if its the cause of the problem.  It could be something completely different!
