Title: 1st Hand of a $30 WPT sattellite
Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 05, 2006, 11:58:40 PM
You pick up  Aspades Qs in 2nd position and raise to 60 (Standard 1500 chips 10/20 blinds). You get 1 limper caller and the SB re-raises to 300. BB flat calls, and so do you. Other original caller folds. Flop comes  6s 5h 4s

SB bets 600
BB moves all-in.

What do you do?
Should you have called the original raise?

I dont think you should call the origional reraise . The SB  is willing to reraise 2 limpers including an early position one and play what could become a big pot out of position . This shows immense strength and I would not be surprised to see AA,KK here. Your raise has given you information and you should use it (IMHO).
Now with that flop and the possibility of a triple through  I may well call.

I'd be tempted to call because you've got 2 chances to hit a spade, but I take chances like that which perhaps I shouldn't, I don't know xx

It's a satellite. Great chance to treble up. Go for it.

All the chips went in.

SB had  Ks Kh
BB had  Jh Jd

Js on the turn and a blank river.

I was the SB and slightly cross that the guy with  Aspades Qs called my initial re-raise. Especially after the BB flat-calls. Oh well.
