On the 15th-16th of April, the Paddy Power Irish Poker Open will take place. Plenty of big names, not to mention a few Blondeites.

Anyhow, Paddy Power are taking bets on the winner. Current odds to win the event include:

Paul ‘ActionJack’ Jackson -- 50-1
Donnacha O’Dea -- 66-1
George McKeever -- 66-1
‘Mad’ Marty Wilson -- 80-1     
Padraig Parkinson -- 80-1

Also worth noting is the fact the Paddy Power will refund outright bets placed before the start of the tournament for any player who makes the final table but does not win.

what price is the "field"?

in most of these poker bets the name players are too short and I like to take the field against all the named players...look at how many events are won by first time winners/newer players...thats where the value is...

how does betting on a winner of a poker event get impacted in the event of "business" being done at the final table ?

Pay out is made on the "official" winner ie. the trophy winner

maybe Mr Flanders had been down the diddly bo diddly bookies......

certainly room for some skullduggary there then. Imagine it I have a "bag a sand" on myself at 150/1 to win the main event. Down to the final three and they start to discuss a deal.

Pat will either get a monster stack or go home early. Dave O'Callaghan and Mark McMahon are two of the best young players in Ireland.

Mukesh Morjaria is worth a punt - he isnt on the paddy power list, but is @ 140 on Betfair. 

He is on great form, and told me that he is really going for this one.

This weekend was the Boylesports €500 Freezeout at the Citywest in Dublin. With the Irish Open looming it was a good opportunity to see who was in form. It was a two day event with an 8000 starting stack and 40 minute blinds. It was chopped heads up between Paul Hanlon from Dublin, his first big win I believe and Ray McKenna from Belfast who has previous form and seemed a solid player from my time at the table with him. Antes Up Dave O'Callaghan topped off a great week by finishing third - he won two mTT's at the same time earlier this week online, the £15k on Betfair and the $50 rebuy on stars.

Derek 'The Clamper' Williams made the final table and Damo Kavanagh the Irish Poker Championship runner up also showed good form with an 11th place finish. Myself and Tom Murphy from Antes Up were also in the money and although not definates yet to play could be amongst the surprise packages :)

Noel Furlong was in fine form early on amassing a stack of chips before running into Dave O'Callaghan.

How is L Rokash priced at 50/1 jf?
no offence but come on,  by her own admission isnt in the greatest form

Who actually prices these markets?

Ian Girdwood at 250/1 is a smidgeon of value.

But knowing Paddy Power they will lay about 31p at that price before cutting him to 11/4.

I disagree with the Camel, when I think of a reason, I'll let you know what it is

matt tyler is 300/1 on betfair looks good value to me.

Any further last minute tips, anyone running well at the moment & worth a punt? Let us know. I will be away the whole weekend (no computer, nowt), so I fancy a good bet, & look forward to reading the Blonde live report Monday or Tuesday when I'm back.
