Title: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: Sark79 on March 17, 2006, 01:17:53 AM While in town today, I bumped into an old school friend. We chatted for a while and made arrangements to meet up later.
Later on, I went to his house as there was a small get together of some of our old mates. As we sat round talking and drinking a few beers. The subject of holidays came up. One of the group was a girl I had gone to school with ten years ago and I knew very well during that time. I was aware she was into travelling in a big way, so I asked if she had anything planned. She told us a tale about a holiday she had gone on after finnishing her first year at Uni. During her summer break from Uni, her and four of her close class mates had gone to Spain to stay with her Aunt and Uncle for the Summer. They lived in a very large and very old farmhouse, the Uncle had arranged for the girls to work in one of the local Vineyards. ( Names have been changed ) The group included Bella, Fizz, Laa-Laa, Po and Cheetara. After arriving in Spain, the girls quickly settled into their new home and eased into the relaxed Spanish way of life. They loved their job and Laa-Laa in particular integrated into her new surroundings making new friends with a few of the locals. In the evenings they would go long walks with Bella's unlces three greyhounds, Doodles, Izzles and Santa's Little Helper. Life continued this way for around a month untill one evening the peace and tranquility disapeared. After a night out at one of the local bars. The Girls returned home around 1am. While the others went up to get ready for bed, Bella went down to the kitchen to get a jug of water. From upstairs the girls heard a loud scream. After making their way down to the kitchen. They found Bella crying hysterically while holding a rolling pin. She was backed into the corner of the room and with her eyes closed swinging the rolling pin into the space infront of her. After the girls had managed to calm her down. She told her friends that a tall man dressed like a peasant farmer had stood beside her at the sink. As she backed away from him, he started to walk towards her holding out his arms in an aggressive way. He was shouting, but she said there was complete silence. The next day all returned to normal. The girls explained what had happened to the Aunt and Uncle over breakfast. They had never seen anything and had lived in the house for over twenty years. The Uncle tried to frighten the girls by telling them that criminals had been hanged on the land a couple of hundred years before. A few days later, Bella and Fizz were in the kitchen with the Aunt baking bread. The same thing happened, but this time the other two were there as well. The same man walked from the corner of the room towards the three women. This time his gestures were alot more animated. As he walked towards them, he waved his arms violently while tears streamed down boths his cheeks. As he shock his hands, he took swings as if he was banging on an door. The three women held each other and screamed for the Uncle. By the time the Uncle had made his way from the garden, the man was away. The girls were planning to see abit of the country before they had to return home, so they chose this time to leave. According to the Aunt and Uncle they had never seen anything before in the farmhouse. Both times the man appeared, Bella was in the room. I personally don't believe in ghosts, aliens or any of that stuff. But I do believe in the character of my friend. There is more chance on Ned Flanders telling a lie than her. She is one of the most honest people I know. As far as I am concerned she must believe she saw something, and she doesn't suffer from any mental problems. What do folks think? Are there such things as ghosts? Or like me, do you think it is nonsense. I just remembered, Blonde actually has a talking monkey who is going to the WSOP.... so anything is possible.. :D Does anyone else have a similar story? Title: Re: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: The Truth on March 17, 2006, 01:44:37 AM Depends on your definition of Ghosts. Spirit can manifest itself and present itself in a physical form. Not something I really want to get into too much detail on this forum, however if you have specific questions on the subject PM me and I will try to help.
Title: Re: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: Sark79 on March 17, 2006, 01:50:34 AM I am a total non- believer. I always put it down to stress on the part of the person. Maybey a shadow.
In the above story, I can't explain it. However there must be a scientific explanation. It couldn't have been a ghost. I will happily spend the night in any so called haunted place. I enjoy ghost type films, but just don't think it is possible. Title: Re: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: The Truth on March 17, 2006, 01:58:16 AM Why should spending time in a 'haunted' environment be any different to spending time in any other envirnment?
But on a very serious note and only because it has been brought up on the forum - If anyone is thinking about attempting any experiment as glamourised by Derek Acorah and his ilk please make sure you are suitably protected. The consquences of not doing so can be very grave. Information on doing this can be sought by PMing me or from your local SNU church. Title: Re: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: Sark79 on March 17, 2006, 02:04:52 AM I respect your views. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs.
I did go to the Spiritulist( sp?) Church three or four times. I had alot of family member who were into the stuff when I was abit younger. They persuaded me to go along. It didn't really do alot for me. All the time I was looking at my watch, thinking yea right. I actually almost fell asleep at one point. I see Derek Acorah and think to myself. Either he really believes this stuff or he is a great actor. Title: Re: Ghost story....If you believe in ghosts Post by: The Truth on March 17, 2006, 02:07:45 AM I don't even think he is a great actor. Showman maybe. Not having met Derek I couldn't really comment. However, I have some very strong views on the responsibilities of mediums who 'perform' on television. The vast majority of mediums work for no pay in churches up and down the country where people are not charged a penny for attending. For a medium to be effective and to have strong links with spirit the motivations must be pure.
This is me well and truly flagged as a nutter on the forum. A very few people in the poker world were aware of my 'other work' but it wasn't widely known. However if anyone does feel I can help them on matters of this nature or for absent healing feel free to PM me and I will do what I can.
