Title: Google Earth Post by: Bongo on July 11, 2005, 11:54:48 PM I don't know if any of you have seen this but it is very good.
Basically it is a fully zoomable model of the earth made up from satelite photos. Some places have a lot more detail than others but more photos are being added all the time. http://earth.google.com/ Title: Re: Google Earth Post by: ifm on July 11, 2005, 11:58:24 PM Thanks for reminding me!
I heard some fella going on about this on *cough cough* radio 2 and meant to check it out. Also about their map section, apparently you can scroll in the direction you wanna go without having to constantly reload the pages. Unique in map sites Title: Re: Google Earth Post by: Bongo on July 12, 2005, 12:02:01 AM You can overlay roads on this, search for post codes and places, get directions, measure distances... Much better than maps.

Title: Re: Google Earth Post by: Bongo on July 12, 2005, 12:20:21 AM The file I downloaded a few weeks ago is 10MB.
I imagine it will be between that and 15MB. It does connect to the Internet to download the images etc though so I don't know how well it would work on Dial Up. Title: Re: Google Earth Post by: Robert HM on July 12, 2005, 12:26:08 AM 10,315K

Title: Re: Google Earth Post by: Bongo on July 12, 2005, 01:31:05 AM No, it just doesn't have detailed images of all places yet.
