Title: Casino Dress Code
Post by: daveymck on July 12, 2005, 03:38:43 PM
I am now a fully paid up member of a couple of the Grovsner casinos and am planning on playing a few tournaments.

Could someone confirm the dress code I know it tends to be "smart casual" whatever that means.

I take it that means no jeans or trainers?  Does that mean dark black jeans are not acceptable?

Black Trainers?

T shirts do they have to be polo neck ones or anything half decent.

Or should I turn up in my work stuff.

Thanks

Hi
there has been recent enforcing of the dress code at  Grosvenor Newcastle, no sports tops,  shorts, ripped jeans vests, hooded tops or baseball caps, although a baseball cap would probably be alllowed if only worn in the cardroom and nowhere else.

Almost anything goes, almost anywhere, sadly. Smart Casual seems to have lost it's meaning.

One exception to the named venues - you MUST have a collared shirt at The Vic, if I am not mistaken.
