Title: was the fix in?
Post by: ifm on March 24, 2006, 12:24:14 AM
Darts

Barneveld v Taylor
Having seen the thread earlier i should have done what i meant to and sent sonoppy a text to get the biggest bet he could on the draw.
This was incredible, everyone around me in the pub were pedicting the draw, for several differing reasons.
I missed out on what i think was the biggest fix in years, what do you lot think?

what were the reasons given for the fix Ian?

Taylor missed two darts at double top to let Barny in for the draw

Interesting ifm.

The thing which immediately springs to mind for me is that a draw would keep things bubbling along and pique interest in a possible pay-per-view clash between the two later in the year?

did you see taylor miss tops by at least an inch 3 times and barny the same twice tighty?
I reckon if you looked back at ALL their televised games you wouldn't see that once mate.

that is ONE reason...........

Internet poker is fixed too.

That's what they said in the pub anyway.

 rotflmfao

How could Taylor and Barneveld fix the draw?
Surely they would have been too busy getting those aliens to kill Kennedy.

lol

I think if I were trying to fix a draw I'd be unlikely to get the 7 legs I needed then throw 5x140 in the final two legs I needed to lose. >:?

The scoring was superb throughout, the doubles were wednesday night pub team standard, if taylor were to win it would kill all interest in the remaining fixtures in the league.

LMAO - this thread gets better and better. (0-7 what?)

I'm not one for the conspacry theory but I must say if there was one sport easy to fix it's darts.

Some of the characters seem well shady and like ifm says all you need to do is get the doubles bit right.

I still think it was legit but I wouldn't fall off my chair if it was proven otherwise.

I tend to agree with ITM. I suspected a bit of sharp practise, when i noticed it was best of 14. surely open to a draw !!! 8)

So body mass is not the only thing Darts players have in common with professional wrestlers now?
