Title: Big Up to Gala Birmingham Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 24, 2006, 04:27:23 AM Went there tonight for the new £30 FO, (that started last week) and I've got to say it has an excellent set-up. 4000pts, house dealers, no juice, house dealers, starting blinds of 25/50, house dealers, 30 minute clock, house dealers, a flatish pay-out structure and did I mention the house dealers? Plus there was a mini-buffet at the break at the end of the third level. As for the players, well some were ok, but early on there's a lot of loosey goosey (and fishy action). For example, on an AA672 board. Matey 1 bets, Matey 2 flat calls. Both turn over A7. I ended up finishing 7th when my A9 ran into A10, but I'd already got lucky twice with A10 vs AQ, (10 on the river) and then K10 vs KJ (K42 board, turn Q, river 2 for a split pot). Anyway I'll be there next week, so thanks to Rich (dik9) and the staff. :)up ;applause; :respect:
P.S ifm - Rich says the pints are cheaper at the Gala than the Broadway and that that would be enough to get you to come along. ;) Title: Re: Big Up to Gala Birmingham Post by: bobby1 on March 24, 2006, 05:49:45 AM good news, a casino that seems able to run a comp that make sense.

Incidentally, if anyone is going next thursday, I'd recommend registering before 8.15pm (Starts at 9pm) it was totally full up by then. Title: Re: Big Up to Gala Birmingham Post by: ifm on March 25, 2006, 02:49:25 PM How many is "full up" floppy?
Title: Re: Big Up to Gala Birmingham Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 25, 2006, 02:55:18 PM How many is "full up" floppy? I think it's 60, meaning there'd be usually around £550 for first. But even when we got to the final table last week, there was enough time to see flops and not just push or fold. I spoke to Rich at the private game last night, apparently it didn't finish til 4.45am, (no deals!). Finishes between 4am and 5am I'd guess. |
