I'm just going to get you some nice pictures before certain people bust themselves (more coming from the intrepid Ben)...

We are graced by not only Marc but Cupcake in update corner, after we chased off the poor people who were sat in these comfy leather seats by covering the table in our equipment and staring at them.  I am going to have "reserved for blonde" bits of paper at the ready for this kind of thing - a tip learnt from Pro Rolf Slotboom....

Table 1 looks interesting with Richard Gryko, Howard Plant and Stuart Nash,

Table 3 has the in form Martin Green

Table 4 is where Mr Tikay Kendall is parked, opposite old master Kevin o Connell

Table 7 sees 20 year old Jason 'Barcrest' Schacter battling it out with seasoned pro's Ross Boatman and Pascal Perrault.

meanwhile Tikay looks in a hurry to go home, firstly denting his stack with QT v QQ on a T high flop and then deciding to re raise 'Pippa's' raise pre flop only to pass when she re raises to 6400!! CHILL TIKAY. marathon not a sprint, and all that.

SlickKid has just turned up 9 minutes late and has been disqualified. He looks absolutly gutted and rightly so, despite getting his money back it seems no consolation. He was held up on the M1 in traffic.

I personally think this rule is ridiculous. If anyone can explain to me what advantages you can get by turning up late i may change my mind.

Stuart Nash (sat next to Gryko) is probably smiling here because he just doubled up with  8d 8c against  Ac Ks, with his remaining 4k(!) all-in preflop.  He spiked a third eight for good measure and then beamed for the camera.

Ram Vaswani looks in the zone along with Victoria Coren and Jon Shoreman on table 12.

Bad News - The Elder Blondeite tikay has managed to go OUT.  Yes, just after I counted his stack at 6k, he got involved with Mark Teltscher on a Qs 9h 5s board.  So involved that they got it all in rather sharpish.

the seat at table at start rule is due to the gaming board ruling that ALL players must be on the premisis at the start time, the only way the card room can insure this is to make sure the players are seated

i do beleive this lead to ACES being DQ from blackpool last year as he was still signing in at reception when he heard the words shuffle up and deal

OK they're back and they're playing once again.  Just giving tikay's camera enough time to whir through his 999 stored photos to the newest ones of him and Gryko...

Kind of sad that tikay is out, didn't have enough time to drink the regulation ten cups of coffee it takes me to get truly enthusiastic about anything.  And he was clearly loving playing (in fact, I've never seen him looking put out or bored at a poker table, ever).  But I'm getting there now (more ordered already), so expect unnecessary exclamation marks and lots of closeup photos.

OK Chunkymick and M3Boy coming up (they're downstairs, see, and we've just been doing an upstairs update in this last half hour).

That includes the fact that Neil Channing is still in, just moved to Ross Boatman's table, where also sit Pascal Perrault and Anders Berg.

No sign of tikay, so we reckon he's gone home to answer all 24,000 messages he's received in the last 24 hours.  Pity, was thinking of trying to rope him in as a third updater with that nice new laptop we've got.  That way I could just sit back and drink hot chocolate instead of stomping up and down the stairs. 

Here's one for you Hendon Mob die hard's, Ram Vaswani gathering his chips after winning ANOTHER pot. Ross is playing today and his brother Barny played yesterday and is clinging on with a shade over 10k.

Double up for Martin Cavanagh - There was a mid-position raise to 1,200 (blinds 200 - 400), called by Ian Woodley in the cutoff and followed by and all-in from Martin on the button.  Eventually Ian called with his  Kh Qc, asking if Martin had a pair.  "Yes."  Ad Aspades.

Although the board brought a King, it wasn't enough to save Ian Woodley his 4k and he's down to around 2,000 now.

Had a break-time chat with Vicky Coren, who's had so much experience of fast-structured TV events in the last couple of days (!) that she thought this would seem positively sloth-like.  But no, she says the table she's just been moved to has the "raise, re-raise all-in, call" thing going already, with the blinds only about to climb to 300 - 600 ante 25.

The nice fella in the cardroom informed me that only 20 people have bought in so far and theres a max of 130 runners so he thinks its unlikely that the event will be sold out. I make no promises, but you should be ok to come and buy in on Sunday.

How efficient is Ben?  Yes, Gripper - what he said.  But I wouldn't leave it until one hour beforehand or anything.  Would be nice to see you, anyway :)

The players have returned.  Time to catch some of these all-in reraises and give them to you all, methinks.

Downstairs, Chunkymick has taken a couple of hits to his stack (down to just a few thousand) after two rather large hands - on one he saw a Jack-high flop with Js Qh, but passed to a big raise from Mateyboy.  Then another beat with  7c 7d on an  Ad 6c 6d flop - no good.

Other things noticed - Burnley John back up to around 18,000 - he said he lost them to "That EPT winner" and then "Got them back again."  He was shaking his head in the direction of Mads Andersen who has 25,000 and was paying no attention, away in ipod land.

Play has restarted at what I seem to remember is the last level of the day: 500 - 1,000 with a 50 ante.

This is where the 60-or-so people left get really busy whittling themselves down - my guess is today ends with around 40 players still remaining just like yesterday.  I make this prediction having heard that in the field of meteorology, the weather has something like a 75% chance of just being the same as it was yesterday.

Well, I've been to London to play a comp that began at 8pm, played the comp, booked outa my hotel, got a train home, been to Tescos & done my shopping, & read the Updates, & it's only 0200 - do I feel daft, or what?

But terrific Updates. Humour, information, cracking pics, and after my 2nd night in a row at home reading a blonde Live Update, I'm beginning to realise the attraction of them.

With the chance to just aboit catch the last train home, & have my first Saturday at home for months, with the bonus of a day of getting caught up with stuff, I dashed out of The Vic & rather rudely failed to say goodnight - or even hello - to so many friends. Sorry! I feel rather bad about dashing out so quickly, but what's done is done. And I do have mountains of stuff to sort at home, withn the Site Re-Launch.

He made his all-in stand on the button with pocket Fours (fair enough) but behind him lurked Jon Shoreman with 60k+ in chips and  Ac Ad!  Although Paul picked up a hope-inducing flush draw on the turn, no flush appeared and he was walking.  "I knew Jon would call with whatever he had - he just had Aces."

Burnley is OUT, I am afraid, and Ash around 22k (average).  I don't mind not playing for a change - actually quite nice to get an overview of a whole tournament.  And it's great to have people posting - when playing you can kind of feel like your table is the whole entire universe.  Which isn't true.  It's also easier to get a hot chocolate sat out here than at the table, which is a bonus.

Oh, and Karabiner, if you're still up - is this Colin 'The Scholar'?  I think so.  But it would good to have confirmation that I've been bothering the right guy!

Wish Geeforce1 (David Gent) luck from the Wardonkey.

With literally seconds left of play, short stack Ram Vaswani gets a last minute reprieve-style double up with Ks Td against  Ahrt 9h - all I saw was the board with a ten and a nine on it, with a countdown in progress on the other guy.

Trevor Reardon was down to 325, all in with Kh 6h against AQ x2.  He trebled to 1800 when the King hit and a flush followed.
He followed this up with two more double-throughs, and has somehow worked that grain of rice into a bowl - 8,000!

And NOW we hear that yet another treble up is going to leave Trevor finishing the day with a reasonable stack - over 25k!  This game can be so very odd.

couple of hands for you.

Big hand on table seeing an old classic JJ v AK all in pre flop for about 20k each. AK prevailed and sent a very gutted looking JJ packing.

Ram is now officially crippled, he raised Th Ts to 3000 (blinds 500/1000) in middle position and the sb re raised to 8000. Ram pushed quite quickly and matey beat him to the pot. he flipped over Ks Kc. board came..

Qs Js 8s  turn Jh   river 6s.

Incidently the Anders Berg BB passed when the guy with kings re raised. he cocked it up when he threw his cards in the muck and accidently flashed the As.

He was seen cursing a little bit afterwards saying "if only it would have been blind on blind" presumably they both would have got busy if it had been folded round to matey in sb...

The other side of the Trevor story is the Mad Turk's frustration at being one of the double-up providers (e.g. the Turk's 99 vs Trevor's AQ which hit) - he has dropped to 13,000 on the very last hand of the night!

Now the baggies are coming for the chips, and we hope to have a nice end of day chip wrap-up for you within a half hour.

A story while u wait:

Tony Chessa wishes henceforth to be known as 'Honest Tony' after he rivered a bigger straight that had his opponent's straight (that he'd been betting every street) beaten, and pointed out that even though the guy pushed all his chips forward, he'd just announced, "Call."  Gave the guy his change and went home with a clear conscience.

Just a word on the structure which noone mentioned yesterday...

There was a 500-1000 level which I've never seen in Vic tournament (or Luton or Walsall for that matter.. they normally go from 400-800 to 600-1200)

I think a 75-150 level is a waste of time.. there was maybe room for a 150-300 level but I think there should be more play later in the tournament when we get near the money... and the 500-1000 level provides this.

Matusow, & a few others of similar ilk, are in the UK for the televised heats of the British Poker Open, as I belieive Full Tilt took up a bunch of seats.  Likewise, some of America's leading female Poker players were here for the Women's Popker Tour Final, which was recorded earlier this week - this was the comp that Claire & Chili were in.

Not long to go until it kicks off but if you want a bit of interest there is some last longer betting here (http://www.bluesq.com/bet?action=go_events&type_id=1529):

So if I were to bet on The Camel lasting longer than Kevin O'Connell, and he lasted longer, but didn't make the money, I'd only get my stake money back?

Yes.  I was keen to have it as a straight last longer but as the finishing positions of players out of the money are not officially reported, this is not possible.
