Title: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: tikay on March 25, 2006, 12:06:09 PM Well, we have been up & running a week, & I thought I'd keep you informed about one or two things. Equally, if you have any comments, good or bad, stick them on this thread, & we will comment, change, or review, as appropriate.
We don't have detailed figures to hand for the week, but we do have figures for one or two days, & to say we are delighted would be an understatement. We are not out to build a huge enterprise, "small is beautiful" may well be the way, but anyway, so far, so good. We have a scheduled Upgrade in the Pipeline, & one or two bits & pieces have already been earmarked for change. Depositing Cash. This HAS been a problem to some of us, me included, so let's take a look at it. The Cage has a system whereby they want Clients to "register" their Credit Cards, or face a "cap" on Deposits. Until this is done, the system, whereby they want to see a copy of your Driving Licence or Passport, and a Utility Bill, truly is awkward & cumbersome. How on earth do you fax stuff like this, most of us do not have access to fax machines or scanners. The reaons they give are "regulatory", and this may well be true, as I think The Cage is Canadian based. So, I "pinged" the Manager button, & a young lady by the name of Linda came on, &, after some to-ing & froing, she phoned me. We managed to get round the fax machine problem. I agreed to take a pic of my Passport & a Utility Billl with a digital camera, & e-mail them to Customer Support, sorting the problem in my case. And she allowed me to Deposit immediately, after I promised to do what we'd agreed. Credit Cards I had a problem first time round, my Credit Card would not "go", although it is adequately funded. Again, I pinged the Manager Button - got "Kevin" this time & he patiently got it sorted for me. In fact there was not a prob, but for some reason, the software told me there was. So, in both cases, the "Manager" button solved my problem, & I have to say, Customer Support has been, to me anyway, faultless. I spoke to Linda & to Kevin, if you have a problem, please feel free to ask for either of those two. Private Tables I was a bit shocked when I Posted "fancy some online acttion?" one night & we filled half a dozen SNG's in about 3 minutes! A bunch of us messed about in SNG's for an hour or two, & had a ball. I gather this has been happening through the week, too, though sadly, I've hardly been at home all week. I'll give it another try tonight & see what happens, but that's EXACTLY how I see it working. But it DID highlight the problem of not having Private Tables. Clearly many of us want to have some fun with our blonde buddies, so by the time we have sussed what table we are "invading" half the seats hve been taken by non-blondes. I discussed this with Dave last night, & he suggested I ask them to give us a bunch of Private Tables, "if you don't ask you don't get" was the thrust of his comments, & so I will ask. I shall also ask if we can have SNG tables, $5 & $10 to start with - say, every 15 minutes during the evening. If "yes", then we will monitor progress over the next few weeks, & then add more or take some off, change the buy-in, whatever. blonde only Tourneys At the mo, it's my job to send them a list of our proposed blonde Tourneys a few days in advance - say, every Thursday for all of the following week. I have not done that yet this week. We kinda feel that it's like a new toy, we need to see how it works, fiddle with it, find out what we can & can't do, & most importantly, see what YOU want. So let us know what you want, & we will see if it's possible. So, as things stand, I have not booked any blonde Tourneys for next week yet, but if time permits, & we make up our mind what we want, I will. But the longer term plan IS to have regualr, scheduled, blonde-only Tourneys. We are happy to have them weekly, every other night, every night, twice a night, we will just react to what you want. So let us know - when, how often, what buy-in, etc. Play Dave, Jen, Rhowena, etc. We still intend to have this facility, whereby you can play any of Team blonde at Heads-Up, but give us time while we sort out the Nuts & Bolts. Ideally, this needs Private Tables to help it work properly. In the interim, if anyone wants a pop at me Heads-Up any time I'm online, let me know, & I'm happy to take your cash...... Heads-Up Challenge - El Blondie & Simon Nowab One night in the week a bunch of us happened to hook up in the bar of a Hotel in North London, & the beer & champagne (in my case, a mug of hot chocolate) were flowing freely. Wel, one thing led to another, & next we knew, a challenge had been issued by Simon to El Blondie, was quickly accepted, for a best of three, online Heads-Up battle. Simon asked for $5k per game, Dave replied that the biggest table was $1k per game, & it was agreed - it's ON! (In fact, there is a $2k table). We will let you know when it happens, so we can rail them both in true blonde PRO style. (Mind you, they both gotta get over the problem of Depositing the cash in the account first!). OK, there it is. Now we need your feedback please. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: TightEnd on March 25, 2006, 12:13:39 PM the problem people are experiencing is withdrawing as well as depositing....for the reasons you give...

I had not seen that Thread, so I'd better read it now, & then I will respond. I'm sorry I omitted it from my mini progress report, but I just never realised that thread existed. Give me a mo to fnd it & peruse it, & I will respond. That the problem with being offline too much the last week or two. I assume it's in General Discussion, yes? Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: TightEnd on March 25, 2006, 12:24:13 PM yes Tikay thats right, last night's discussion while you were at the Vic.
Please check your PM from me this morning. Thanks Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: GlasgowBandit on March 25, 2006, 12:24:52 PM Everything seems to be running quite smoothly.
I think the idea of a Blonde Schedule is definately the way foward so we know when we can play fellow blondies. There have been a few instances where when maybe 3 or 4 of us are at the table and there are 6 strangers the strangers get a wee bit annoyed when we're taking the piss out each other, but thats only to be expected. I think we should have $5, $10, $20 STT's availavle on a regular basis. I would like to see a Blonde Freezeout maybe twice p/w one at say $10 the other at $5. And also a few rebuy tourneys with limited rebuys. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: AdamM on March 25, 2006, 12:26:16 PM thanks for the detailed post Tikay.
The issue is, for those of us not prepared to give this much info to Bowmans we're going to struggle to very involved with blondepokerleague Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: tikay on March 25, 2006, 12:28:00 PM yes Tikay thats right, last night's discussion while you were at the Vic. Please check your PM from me this morning. Thanks "check your PM"........ Easier said than done. I'm sorry to say they have built up a bit since the Vienna/Monte Carlo/Charlie time. I have a system, whereby once I go into my PM Box, I have to answer EVERY Pm in one "session", otherwise I lose track of what I have & have not replied to. Part of the reason I dashed home last night was to try & deal with these PM's today, & I intend to do my best. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: wsopin07 on March 25, 2006, 01:03:31 PM the depositing is a problem, i think firepay needs to be added!
they charge ne $3.99 to deposit upto 2.5K, and on stars there is no charge to put money into the acct. I did deposit through netteller yesterday but i was charged by netteller 8% and then i was charged to deposit on blonde. Must be a cheaper way Tikay????????? Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: tikay on March 25, 2006, 01:17:54 PM Glasgow Bandit - thanks mate, that the sort of thing I was hoping for.
WSOPin06 - noted Brian, I wil add it to the list of stuff we need to discuss with Bowmans or Jon Sullivan. Adam - noted. You made your position quite clear on the other thread, to which I have responded. I really enjoyed the mini league freeroll that blonde had on virgin last year (where i made a tidy sum of $$) :D Just an idea. Jim. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: tikay on March 25, 2006, 01:33:37 PM Thanks Jim. Yes, the Lague is high on our list of priorities, & I'd say 99% that we WILL do that pretty soon.
What Dave & I MOST wanna do is "commuity poker", where we all have fun together, the blondes, the blonde Tourneys were such fun, so that's one that's very near the top of the list. Thank you for your observation. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: tikay on March 25, 2006, 01:42:37 PM The Thread "blonde Poker - withdrawing Cash" raised a whole host of problems that we were not aware of. We will deal with them all as quickly as we can. Our main contct is Jon Sullivan, who's away on business in some far-flung parts right now, but as soon as we can, we will contact him & address these issues. Knowing Jon, he wil Post direct on here for us. Please bear with us while we look at the points you have made, the bulk of which I do agree with, & fully understand your concerns, though I can't say I was overly impressed with the hysterical way some of them were made. Title: Re: The blonde Cardroom - Progress Report Post by: AdamM on March 25, 2006, 01:44:27 PM I've mailed you about your response Tikay, I realise it's in a deep pile but I'd appreciate if you'd dig it out

I intend to do it later today, but I can't promise, if fires need putting out because folks get uppity on the Forum, that will have to take priority. It's extemely important to me that this Forum retains it's civil & friendly nature, so cardroom problems or not, that remains a priority for me. Private Tables Flushie said that he would be amazed if this were possible on Tribeca, and I agree with that... for ages we've wanted private tables and it just hasn't been in the software.I was a bit shocked when I Posted "fancy some online acttion?" one night & we filled half a dozen SNG's in about 3 minutes! A bunch of us messed about in SNG's for an hour or two, & had a ball. I gather this has been happening through the week, too, though sadly, I've hardly been at home all week. I shall also ask if we can have SNG tables, $5 & $10 to start with - say, every 15 minutes during the evening. If "yes", then we will monitor progress over the next few weeks, & then add more or take some off, change the buy-in, whatever. The closest I reckon you could come to it without the techies taking a hammer to the coding (yet again!) would be to institue some MTTs, BlondePoker skin only, with maximum 9 players - and as you say, put them on at regular intervals during the evening. That way, if anyone wants to play a 'STT', and they know when it starts, then people from here could register on a first come first served basis. I assume that's what you meant, anyway! blonde only Tourneys Would absolutely love a proper Omaha Hi Lo tournament. At the mo, it's my job to send them a list of our proposed blonde Tourneys a few days in advance - say, every Thursday for all of the following week. I have not done that yet this week. We kinda feel that it's like a new toy, we need to see how it works, fiddle with it, find out what we can & can't do, & most importantly, see what YOU want. So let us know - when, how often, what buy-in, etc. Omaha Hi Lo Freezeout Limit (NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT Pot Limit) decent blind levels i.e. 12 mins minimum. Am flexible about the buy-in, I'm assuming (from what I read from everyone else's posts) that it will be in the $5 - $20 bracket, which is fine with me. I have said before that Omaha is under-represented on Tribeca. Well, even Omaha Pot Limit (High) is catered for now to a certain degree with Blue Square's weekly $5 rebuy (12 min blinds) tourney. Omaha Hi Lo is lagging behind. The only Hi Lo tourneys in the main tribeca schedule are 8 min blinders and I just don't want to play 8 mins if I can help it... So, my vote goes for an O/hi lo freezeout. If you build it, I'll play it. :)up --- Thanks, and keep up the good work! Ok guys heres the latest from Bowmans: *As of 8PM this evening withdrawls can be made up to £300 to the same card as the deposit without registration.* A few points. - After £300 all cards will have to be registered - The time of 8PM is approximate, please allow for a delay for Bowmans to process the information to all of their departments and draw up our T's and C's - This is not something for Tribecca or even Bowmans, it is for blondepoker only, well done to Jon Sullivan for making it possible - For larger deposits/withdrawls your best bet is to use Neteller if you do not wish to register your card Thank you for your patience. |
