Title: %percentages%
Post by: raab11 on March 26, 2006, 05:05:25 PM

after a bit of research in several sites today,i have found that;

i see about 32% of flops(a bit high  me thinks, tho this could be due to me playing a bit of heads up)

winning % of flops seen 41%

the second stat is of more interest to me, is this high enough?

what do you guys think?

how are your percentages?

p.s. these stats are just for hold em, gonna do my others tomorrow(unless i discover i actually have a life!!...lol)

I've noticed that my 'stats' differ quite notably from MTTs to STTs to cash games.

STTs of course, you'll play more shorthanded situations, so my flops seen %age is higher than for MTTs. For heads up, it will be even higher, as you say.

You really need to separate the stats for the different games you play... and even then, knowing what to make of them will be tricky  :D

As a cash game player my stats were that i only volutanrily put money into the pot around 18.5% of the time. This stat isn't probably different to yours as it doesn't include the time i completed from the sb or checked my option in bb.

Im a tight player and this is full ring games so im not sure your 32% is that high at all for a tourney player.

As Zim said, using these types of stats properly means isolating each individual type of game you play. Limit/NL? 6-handed or full ring?

For tournaments you need to break it down by each blind level and, even then, the figures willl be skewed too much by game conditions to be of any use (IMO).

Across one type of cash game, they can be useful - just wodged together in one lump they are worse than useless (because you me infer incorrect conclusions from them).

check your bank acc stats, if your making a continual profit all other stats are at least acceptable.

if not arrange a meating with you bank manager at which time you should hit him with your chair.

i can give advice for life and poker, hope it all works out well.

;iagree; That's yer stat that matters.

Also agree with AndrewT, the % of flops seen does not tell you much about your tournament play, what with the regular changing game dynamic.

It is a more useful indicator for how tight/loose you are in cash games (although I prefer Longy's VP$IP% stat to the flop's seen %.)

Do you use any kind of tracking software? Some can provide you with very useful statistics.
