Title: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: TightEnd on March 27, 2006, 01:17:30 PM I have been asked by Carmel to put these up. I'll do so on General Discussion to start and move it to Live Poker in due course.
Firstly...payout structure This has been flattened again. Two festivals ago the winner received 40%, last festival 35% and now the prize structure is to be: 1st 33% 2nd 20% 3rd 13.5% 4th 9.5% 5th 7% 6th 5% 7th 4.5% 8th 4% 9th 3.5% with a proviso that if an event has over 90 runners there is a payout representing a SMALL PROFIT to 10th to 18th eg for the £500 PLHE freezeout, 10th to 18th get £750 This represents an end to the situation where 10th to 18th made a loss Now the Structures 1. Monday £200NLHE F0 5000 points 45 minute clock 2. Tuesday £500PLHE FO 10000 points 45 minute clock (10000 points pot limit? prepare for a long one!) 3. Wednesday £200 PLO 5000 points, one rebuy, one add on 45 minute clock 4. Thursday £750 NLHE F0 10000 points (5000+5000 double chance) Double chance can be taken only when you have <50% of starting chips or at end of third level 5. Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: AndrewT on March 27, 2006, 01:28:55 PM What about the blind level progression? The number of starting chips is out of context without that.
Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: Sheriff Fatman on March 27, 2006, 01:37:41 PM Good news on the payout structure. Credit to Carmel for making the change.

Good Luck everyone. Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: matt674 on March 27, 2006, 04:14:21 PM forgive me for asking but having seen the blind structure for the tournaments at Luton they look pretty similar if not identical to those used at the Vic - so how come everyone is praising this structure and saying Carmel should be sent to the Vic?

Credit to Carmel and her team. Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: matt674 on March 27, 2006, 04:29:26 PM Was it not just for the main event that people were complaining that it was just a crap-shoot? They got 10000 starting chips for £1500 and on the same blind structure as the one being used at Luton.
You cant say anything about the blind structure yet either, the one at the Vic was fixed - before the event started. Who knows they may need to change the one at Luton yet if it appears that they are not going to finish in time....... So you get 10000 starting chips for a £500 freezeout and 10000 chips for a £1500 freezeout - now you'll get people complaing that they aren't getting the right value for the extra £1000!! Surely for the rebuy by increasing the amount of chips received for your £200 you'll end up decreasing the prizepool? <post edit comments: apologies but after rereading the schedule i realize that there is only one rebuy event - the omaha which is limited to one rebuy/add on only and therefore my last comment about decreasing the prizepool is not relevant. (i thought the first event was a rebuy)> Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: snoopy1239 on March 27, 2006, 07:49:50 PM All the information regarding the Luton Spring Fest is now available on the main site.

Title: Re: Structures for Luton Springfest Post by: The Camel on March 28, 2006, 09:53:17 PM So, what will these structures mean?
For the events with 10,000 chips in midweek loads of players are going to come back for day 2 and not make the money. Thus wasting a day off work with no reward. Wait and see how many people grumble when they realise this.. (I finalled in the shootout at a Luton event last year... very slow for the first table...and lightening fast for the final. Ridiculous surely?) I will waste my breath one more time saying it would be better to have a fast structure early and have a maximum of 18 players coming back for day 2...and then slow down the clock so when the money is being played for... Great structures for pro's maybe. Bad structures for people who have to work for a living... |
