Title: Bad Beat or Bad Play
Post by: GlasgowBandit on March 27, 2006, 05:38:27 PM
Playing our regular turbo freezeout at work the day!

5 players only.  We have Steeley68 on the button, The Kid (sb), Fox (bb) Me (utg)

The blinds are 150/300.  I fold, on my left is "The Bouncer", he has a reputation of serial limper.  I reckon he has some sort of kink for flops!

Anyway Steeley68 raises to 600 and is called by yer man Bouncer.

Flop came 9c 4c 4s

Bouncer checks, Steeley68 puts in a bet of 800 and is flat called.

Turn comes 4d and Bouncer moves all in for about 2300 Steeley68 calls instantly so its showdown time.

Steeley Turns over As Ac

Bouncer turns over Jh 9d

The river is a 9h

Steeley is out.  The look of devastation on his face well it was priceless!

Opinions on this one????

Got AA, got paid, can't complain.  Massively ahead when the chips went in.

The result is irrelevant.

Do you guys actually get any work done?

That's not what I meant.

When you get the chips in as a favourite, you get paid as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a long-run jockey  :D

Right I get you now!

But in the meantime poor Steeley hasn't been helped as he only got one point in the league table and I think he is currently bottom.

Personally I don't think he did much wrong he made a bet that kept one player in the pot who obviously felt his cars where good on the flop!  But by flat calling he never showed any signs of strength and I think this may have confused Steeley.

HAs he raised by much more pre flop I doubt he would have got a call, I was gutted for him because I felt deserved the pot.  On a side not the Bouncer is a cock!!

Confused him into putting all his chips in with the best hand?

Hopefully dave will post himself on this but by confused I mean I think Dave thought he was at it and he was and got lucky against the best.

You really have to see this guy play to believe how stupid he is!!

It frustrates me so much playing only for fun with him I am desperate for him to come to one of our home games so over a longer period when there is no rushing or silly play just to see him crumble!  :D

Hello,

I had AA in my hand and 444 on the board. I had to play it - had to go all in. The prick I was in against had 9J in his hand and 9944 on the board, but only after the river.

He really is a cock. I hate him. As Bandit says, we are trying to get him in a cash game and take all his money off him. He always calls to see the flop...I must stop moaning, now as my head will burst.

Bandit, get the table fixed for Thursday!!
