Jonny Gould is in the Anchorman's chair, as he has been almost every week since Christmas. Dave Compton has been in Dubai for the big Horse Racing Fessie, but he returns soon, & Jonny & Dave will then alternate again.

The Main Event this week is coverage of the Wm Hill sponsored Estonia event, including interviews with Bad Girl & Matt Tyler.

The "In-Depth" interview this week is The Golden Boy, Thewy. Nice stuff.

In the early-show chat, we discuss last week's controversial Main Event at The Vic, but only as a prelude to next week's show, when the filmed footage is due to be aired, & we will discuss the matter further then. We have invited The Vic to be interviewed about it, we will send a Camera Crew across there if they agree, or they can come along to the studio to have an on-air debate about it. It's up to them - I hope they accept the invitation.

Wa apologise to Iron for calling him the world's worst Poker Player, & correct the facts.

Poor Jonny opens the show by making an awful howler, which he then repeats 5 or 6 times during the show. Think he used a dodgy researcher.

Should be interesting to see how Tikay manages to dig himself out of the "ironside being the worst player ever" whilst keeping the shovel out of the cameras view  :D

On, for once, a serious note, I chatted with Tim Flanders last week, & he was pretty upset that a Presenter on 425 had likened him (physically I assume) to an unsavoury & frankly rather disgusting individual, who had been in prison for a long time for some heinous offences. I never actually saw the edition in which this happened.

This was a joke in poor taste, which mis-fired, & Tim took a very dim view of it, & I don't blame him.

It's part of the show to poke a little fun at everyone, especially ourselves, but this was a step too far.

I felt we (Poker 425) should apologise to Tim, but there were no Big Suits around to "clear" this with yesterday, & with Rhow as "acting Producer" it was a tricky call to seek her permission. Apologising can be seen by some in legal quarters as an admission of guilt, so it was difficult for me to know what to do.

Tim & Pippa are a nice couple, quite inoffensive, & I apologised to them (from me as an individual) last week at The Vic. I'm happy to do so again here.  Tim is 100% fine with me - it was not on a show at which I was present, but I do want him to know, publicly, that I know that it was "regrettable".

I asked the same question Trace, & they told me it was intended as part of a tralier for the show, rather than the show itself.

"But it's a wonderful bit of TV" I suggested, & I hope they wil put it on the show, as it really was quite good I thought.

My role with 425 includes suggesting Venues to visit, & finding "interesting" folks to interview, but I get no say in what footage actually airs. Just as well, I guess......

Do they have poker425 available on your hospital tv ironside or will you have to wait for the internet download?

Great show of course, but the classic and funniest moment this week for me was when Tikay was talking about Elvis Presley......chat went something like......

"Of course he only came to England the once.......to an airport in Scotland !"  rotflmfao


I reckon even David "Colemanballs" Coleman at his peak would have struggled to match that one!   ;tightend;

Scotland is, to my mind, a part of England. It's like a sort of little County.
