Title: ipod help
Post by: Indestructable on March 31, 2006, 11:16:20 AM
Does anyone know about ipods that can give me any help? Sure we must have one or two experts out there.
I have bought a black 30gb ipod and have tried to set up today. When installing the software I get a reject message
" ipod requires windows 2000 or windows xp"
I am on windows millenium and can't seem to get around this. Are there any ways of resiolving?
If the only answer apart from getting a new pc (which would be drastic) would be to getting XP is this very complicated to change my pc and any tips on doing this?

I would advise against buying an Ipod as Apple like to restrict the way you use them, I would use one of the generic players i.e. Creative.

Xplay will allow you to use your Ipod with millenium or 98, though you really should upgrade your OS mate :D

Edit, scratch that, you can't use itunes with millenium.

You can drag and drop files into your ipod though but better off just using another bit of software.

Yeah iTunes requires Windows XP or 2000 to run. I also found out on the morning of my bday that fact. Fantastic job Apple. Sill though, iTunes is the most terrible piece of user-unfriendly software ever.

Download EphPod and you'll never look back. Does everything you'd wanna do with ur iPod and more. Have fun!!
