I’ve just heard from a mate in Gibraltar that one of the poker sites is about to be sued after they confiscated the account of a player who they say is underage. He’d been playing $100-$200 cash games for 3 months.

His age was only discovered when he tried to cash-out to a Scandie bank for over $200k and the bank queried the amount as the account holder was only twelve. The site then checked his game chat and said they could tell by his comments that he was underage and refused to pay out.
They say they will donate his winnings to the Olaf Aminit Foundation, a Swedish charity which helps underage smokers, drinkers and gamblers.

The lad’s dad has got involved. He’s apparently somebody big in a flat-pack business and his lawyers are saying that both father and son have the same name, Lars Torders, that it was the father’s poker account and it was him playing. (screenname – ‘olla-ripof’ – Anybody played this guy, or know which site he uses?)

The lawyers have also said they represent two other younger Scandinavian players, Per Ofors and Bjorn Intusa, who haven’t had any problems with their cashouts from other sites and will sue if they don’t pay out by noon today. Onme Edzun, the poker site’s Scandinavian client manager has told them that if it really was the father playing, can he explain chat comments like:

‘I should be in class.’   
‘My older sister plays as well, she's not bad for a girl’ 
‘My girlfriend’s twelve, but we both look older.’
‘I’m playing on my Mum’s laptop’

As it is legal to gamble at twelve in Scandinavia, should they pay up anyway?

Yep, well done seamus got me,all ends up.Part of me was thinking,why did'nt he confide in his dad to get the money.
I was gonna spout off about big corporations,US control,etc.
Then I read bundle's post.
