Don't be silly.

Spice Grils the movie a great film?!? And now Bauer would own Bourne.

You views are clouded master Jedi... :D

Although I do think you could base an entire drinking game on whenever:

A) Someone dies.

B) Jack answers his phone

or

C) Someone shouts at someone else, "Hundreds of thousands of lives are at stake!!!"

The Spice Girls post was in jest after your Field of Dreams one. :D

Sorry but Matt Damon got hammered in Team America. Nuff said!

I want the CTU ringtone on my mobile so I can answer and say my surname with real urgency and act like I'm in a rush.

Bourne

he is so tough, when he goes to sleep, he sleeps with a night light on. Not because he is afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of him

That's nothing, Jack Bauer once beat a wall at a game of tennis.

Bourne would own bauer.

Signs you've been watching 24 too much.

1. Between screenings of episodes, you lock yourself in a padded room sweating and biting your pillow, randomly calling people requesting CTU assistance.

2. When you take a call for someone else, you don't pass the phone, you "patch them through."

3. You don't go out for a drink with some mates, you form attack teams to "secure some beers."

4. You can guess with a high degree of accuracy the clock differential between ad breaks.

5. You get in heated discussions over who would win a ruck between jack bauer, jason bourne and possibly chuck norris.

6. You change your ringtone to the standard CTU beep and always refuse to answer any calls until the caller confirms they are on a secure line(even when it's your mum.)

I shall try him!

We are watching season 3 at the moment, alongside 5 of course. However we are near the end, i think its season 1 next for us!

Basically all we do is sit around all day in the flat watching 24 getting drunk! Tough life this poker lark!

Bauer is simply too cool for school.

I think they have a writter on the 24 staff whose job it is to sit in a room and come up with kick-ass sounding names. He does a great job, I hope they keep sliding him pizzas under the door.

Sounds like uni.  :ironside:

The screen choice thing gets intense though, within a week you'll all be screaming "TOP LEFT!" or "BOTTOM RIGHT!" from the kitchen when you hear the bleeping.

A film is being made and released after season 6 for 2008... Apparently it'll cover 24 hours but will only be 120 minutes, I'm guessing Jack will have to dash between 3 locations for 40 minute shootouts or something.

Does anyone else not wonder why CTU only has about 3 agents per series!

Jack Bauer.
Main geek.
2nd geek.
Tactical head.
CTU director.
Divison chief who gets in the way....

What about Sydney Bristow!!!!   She kicks ass with the best of them, her and Bauer would be a dream team.

Bourne has his merits, but doesn't come into the same league as either of the above 2.

( Sadly I am also watching 24 season 2 & 3 again, at the same time as 5 lol, and tonight have just started Alias seasons 2 & 3 again lol)

Oh the life of a student, isn't it great!

Oh give me a break, Bauer is not even in the same league as Bourne.

I was watching 24 here in the USA when it first started, it seemed good and most people got hooked on it for a while. But the writers must have hit a wall, because it’s awful now, I happen to see it a couple of weeks ago and spilt my coffee all over myself jumping up to turn the TV over. Not to spoil it for you guys but the scene I watched went something like this.

Ok Jacks on the trail of this hot chick, she is the only one who can tell them where the nuclear bomb is hidden in LA. About to go off shortly. So he finds her and she manages to come up from behind him with an AK 47 trained on him. Dialog goes like this

Hot chick will be H & Jack will be J.

H    don’t move Jack

J      we just want to know where the bomb is

H    I want immunity  first Jack

J   ok just tell us where it is

H   get the president on the phone Jack, I want to hear it from him

So Jack gives the old president a quick bell, and tells him the scope of things, ok P will be president now

P  hotchick you have your immunity, now where is it

H  I want full immunity for past crimes, oh and one more crime

P  and what is that

H  the killing of Jack Bauer..

Ohhh  what is going to happen, well this is when Old Jack pipes in and says

J   Mr  president, we have no choice, th

P But Jack i

J  Mr president I understand but thousands of people will die, so do the deal, Oh and Mr president can you tell my daughter I love her

Well old Mr president is having the old tear up now, and im flying through the air trying to turn the fu$%%^& TV over..

TIC TOC TIC TOC....aaaaaggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So I voted Bourne……

Title: Re: The victor?
Post by: JungleCat03 on April 07, 2006, 07:37:08 AM
Ok. Bourne would cane Bauer for a number of reasons.

1) he's more rock hard. Bourne has survived taking bullets in the back. The worst jack has suffered is having a heart stoppage, piece of cake.

2) Bourne has outwitted "the might" of USA intelligence. Jacko generally requires their help to solve problems.

I could go on....

BUT,

Don't be swayed by the complex relationship between Nina Myers and JAck Baur.

As the old saying goes, if you gave jack a gun with two bullets in it and locked him in a cell with nina myers, hitler and bin laden, he'd shoot nina twice.

When I watch 24 I dismiss the naff-ness of it all.

If you bring the head along to watch these shows you're not going to enjoy them.

Leave the brain in the coat room, suspend your disbelief, sit on the sofa and just immerse yourself in the cool.
You'll have a much better time.   8)

I much rather watching it thinking "Holy Moly, Nena's a baddie wtf" than "Saw that coming a mile off, yawn"

I love 24, that gosh-darn "district" getting in the way all the time. Them good folks at CTU seem to know what they're doing, why not leave them be.

Not watching Series 5 yet, waiting till it all comes out on box set so I can view it all at once.

I didn't really think that Arab manny would fall for the whole, kick his sons chair over and fire a couple of blanks chestnut.

OK Jack, I'll fess up. The bombs at the bus station. Please don't fire blanks into the rest of my brood.

Title: Re: The victor?

The only thing unreal about 24 is the ability to cross LA in a matter of minutes.

Other than that it's ALL real, believe me.

Start of Series 2, Jack shoots some random guy in the briefing room for a reason that I can't fathom and was never really explained.

All the time his boss is watching and doesn't give Bauer so much as a "That's rather naughty mate, calm down"
Jack wanted him dead, that's good enough for me.  8)

Could Bourne get away with that? I don't think so.

Surely this scene cements Jack Bauer's position as a true renegade badass.

He shoots a key material witness in the presence of his boss and all he has to say in his defence is "yeah, i'm gonna need a hacksaw."

If I directed 24, at the next 4 screen split after that hacksaw incident, I'd have a cleaning lady mopping bits of brain off the floor.

Not enough humour in the show is my only complaint.

I tend to agree, ALIAS should be in there.  Bristow is tough for a girl.  I wouldn't offend her.

It is a tough choice, but I think that Bauer just edges it. He gets the answers any way he can.

Bourne has 37 passports all in different names.

He probably snuck up to the tank's flat, did a quick shufty round, decided to take him out and then was back on a flight to Geneva before lunchtime, having detoured at 110mph through the Gorbals in a Mini Cooper

C'MON the Bourne!

No doubt. No contest. Bourne can outwit and evade the global intelligence network of a global hegemon. Bauer shoots a few suspect middle eastern baddies, with the support of the aforementioned hegemons network.

In terms of norkage however, 24 takes the nipple. I mean the biscuit obviously......although include Alias and we have a debate

This disqualifies him right from the off as anyone known to have associated with Michael Winner, with the notable exception of Jenny Seagrove, should really be locked up.

Chuck Norris...you are joking....!

Bronson couldn't even get a part in Cheech and Chong and Chuck Norris is just a poor mans Paul Hogan.

Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.

I'm with Bobby1 here - WTF is this all about?

Bourne?

Bauer?

CTU?

Series1/2/3/4/5?

Are you all mad?

Shall we have a Board for nutters, or those addicted to naff TV Shows. Just think, Deal or No Deal, BB2, CBB, you could all have your own little Board & chatter away all day without disturbing us grown-ups.

Ahh, now I see.

An adventure.

Like Robinson Crusoe, or Black Beauty, a children's thing. All makes sense to me now.

24 question? If it spossed to be real time 24hrs, when does Jack take a Crap?

As for the names, Bauer actually means something but i can't think what but all the names in 24 are historical names or have a meaning conected to the series

BTW Bourne would wipe the Floor with Bauer. Bourne does Krav maga, the worlds most direct martial art, isreali secret services developed it.  I'm looking for classes in my area but can't find em!

Direct does not mean best.

Bauer eats Krav Maga for breakfast and invents martial arts in his sleep.

Yes, was watching bits of it

Bourne 1 was okay; not too bad.

Problem with Bourne Saga is....:

1) Bourne 2 at its best is just like Bourne 1... and at its worst is unintelligible

2) Best thing about Bourne 1 is closing credits music.

Yeah JC put it on, we then had to watch the re-run aswell.....

At many points the diffrences of the JB's were discussed, i am more convinced than ever that Bauer is the greater force.

I have to go with Bourne/Cain/Delta/Webb ( its all the same guy ), I read the books and I foun the books much better than the film, and if the Bourne/Cain/Delta/Webb from the books was up against Bauer, Bauer would be in real bit of bother.

Now we're getting technical.

Are we talking married Bauer, wife dead Bauer, heroin addict Bauer, faked his own death Bauer or locked in a room with Nina Myers alone with blunt instruments Bauer?
