Title: What would you do ?????
Post by: GlasgowBandit on April 07, 2006, 07:44:23 PM
first hand of the $50 freezeout on betfred.

i'm on the button and I am dealt Ac Qc

blinds are 5/10 6 callers come round to me and I raise to 120.  UTG plus UTG +2 and 3 call.

flop comes 5c 7c 4c all check comes back to me and I put in 240 fold fold and an all in.

Is it as easy as it seems to stick the lot in?

HINT*** this is online poker!

Is this just a bad beat story?

No brainer: call.

I think you should pass, no point getting involved with the non nuts this early on.

I agree , a pass is the play here. you dont have the stone nuts and cant call. You could be drawing dead or be up against 2 pair or a set which will always get there at the river. With the blinds this small I wait for a better opportunity to get my entire stack in.

While an experienced player would know what you mean, it is worth emphasising that the nuts must be either on the river or, if before, incapable of being outdawn.

Well I put them all in I never had him for the nut flush, I thought maybe he had TJ or KT something along those lines.

He turned over K6 c the turn came a diamond and well you know the rest 3c on the river.

I sat and pondered for about 10 minutes looking back over the hand, and in hindsight I shouldn't have stuck my chips in.  I didn't put him on a hand that justified the call pre flop, and I took the check on the flop as a sign of weakness and with the all in I assumed he was trying to bully me off the pot.

I got my cards in with the best hand and I was in front but them the breaks.

I really don't think I would have bothered as much had he had the stone cold nuts on the flop.  But I felt as if had been given a big left hook when it came on the riv!
