Screen door effect, Not true 32 bit color, sorry 431$ if you buy direct from dell Title: Re: new monitor Post by: byronkincaid on April 08, 2006, 02:29:23 AM As far as I know you can only buy them off Dell UK or ebay. Dell USA won't send one to you. I don't know about anything technical I'm afraid, I only use mine to play poker and read blonde.

good night Title: Re: new monitor Post by: I, Zimbra on April 08, 2006, 03:34:18 AM I have a copy of the Dell Catalogue for March 2006, in which the 2001FP is listred as £505 inc. tax... now it's suddenly £356 inc. tax.
It's a special 30% discount on Dell Flat Panels, which is seemingly only available until 11th April - so if you're going to get one at that price, you need to decide quickly... Title: Re: new monitor Post by: Nem on April 08, 2006, 06:30:22 AM Dell 2001FP is what I have. (http://search.ebay.co.uk/dell-2001fp_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfromZR10QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQfstypeZ1QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQga10244Z10425QQsacatZQ2d1QQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQssPageNameZWLRS)
I paid nearly £400 for mine, and it only came with 1 years warranty. The link above is only £309 with 3 years (Dell) warranty Title: Re: new monitor Post by: Sheriff Fatman on April 08, 2006, 11:26:53 AM I've got 2 2001FPs, both bought from Ebay. The first came from a UK seller (TheDellMan) and the 2nd from the USA.
There is no problem using the US ones over here, you just need a plug adaptor which some of the Ebay sellers include with the monitor anyway. The power supply, like a laptop, consists of a plug and a transformer so there are no voltage issues to worry about. Also, some general information on monitors for Ironside. The reason why we're suggesting a 20" flatscreen is that these are the smallest monitors which offer 1600x1200 resolution, meaning that you can 4 tables most sites without overlap. The 2001FP became the default monitor of choice as a result due to a combination of price and performance. Dell have subsequently brought out a further range of bigger monitors. The 2001FPW should be avoided as its a widescreen 20" monitor but does not offer 1600x1200 resolution. The 2405FPW has a resolution of 1920x1200 so is ideal, but more expensive. The latest addition to the range is a 30" monster, the 3007FPW, which allows 6 tabling with no overlap if you set it to portrait mode. I've seen one on Ebay at >£1000 so its not exactly a budget option! Sheriff Title: Re: new monitor Post by: Raindogs on April 08, 2006, 12:02:27 PM Both these sites sell refurbished Dell stock which usually means the box has been opened but nothing more.
This site ( http://www.europc.co.uk/pages/filter.aspx?cat=53 ) has the Dell 2005FP for £316 inc vat. The problem is the resolution only goes up to 1680 x 1050 which probably won't allow you to multitable without overlap. I bought 2 Dell monitors from this site ( http://www.sterlingxs.co.uk/scpages/cheapdellultrasharpmonitors.html ) but they only have the 17" Ultrasharps (£140) at the moment. They have them listed as cancelled stock so they are new. They are also much cheaper than EuroPC. The resolution only goes up to 1280 x 1024 so you will have some overlap if you run 2 tables on one monitor. The 17" is a very good monitor and for £280 you could run two which is very usefull is you are running PokerTracker as well. I bought a 17" and a 19" but as the resolution of the 19" is the same there is not a big difference between the two. I also found this site ( http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/TFT_Displays.html ) which sells the 2001FP for £340 and this will give 1600 x 1200. If you search for "Dell outlet stock" in Google you will get a good choice of sellers. I would avoid using eBay for flat screen monitors as you will end up paying more than buying from Dell outlet resellers Title: Re: new monitor Post by: Gryffles on April 08, 2006, 02:46:42 PM Get one of these bad boys.
