Title: World championship snooker - Crucible
Post by: chrisbruce on April 11, 2006, 06:15:20 PM
Ronnie O'sullivan is trading at 4.1 on betfair which seems a massive price to me for Ronnie.
Unpredictable and moody yes but still streets ahead when he's on his game.

Ive filled me boots but would be interested in any insight as to why he is priced so highly!!!!!

Maybe coz it's hard to tell when he's going to turn up, shave his head, quit the game or go on tilt Vs Ebdon?

this year I shall be betting matthew stevens at around 16/1.

he is in the much easier half of the draw, so should be good for the semis anyway.

but the last person I won money on in the snooker world championship was John Parrot in 1991.

John Higgins maybe?    I love this time of year.  Snooker World Championship.  Watching the final in the evening with a becks. Then taking my dogs out for a stroll in the park after it finishes.  Every year, I always seem to do this.  It is like an in built clock.

Go with you on this one sark. John Higgins has been much more consistent this year. As for Ronnie, depends on him!!!

Have had a small wager on David Gray to beat Jimmy White in the first round

Ah Babylon - that David Gray right, I didn't know he even played ;)

I'm on Ronnie and Matthew Stevens too :)

I have bet Higgins and Stevens against the field.

I have found match betting in snooker to be quite profitable picking 5 matches or so and doing £25/£50 accas - seems a safer bet that the football half the time.

I fancy Williams and Ebdon.

If Ronnie turns up though forget about it.

persoanlly i think murphy may be the first to break the champions hoodoo. longer matches are his advantage over all but a few players.

Something to do with his extremely tough draw perhaps.

I made a nice bit of profit when i layed Bond at 1.05 in frame 11, when he was a snooker ahead against Hendry.  Bond went in off with the white and Hendry went on to the win the frame,

get in there!

Just finished wathcing Ronnie scrape through to the quarters and not impressed. I have now taken my profit out of backing him with Betfair, and laid him instead.

The profit is going on Mark Williams to win outright. Mark is playing well and a 5-1 great value.

I also have a small wager on FU at 300 - 1 which looks interesting.
