Title: N/P: Torrents Post by: Nem on April 11, 2006, 06:51:00 PM I'm trying to download a boxing torrent and nothing is happening and it says that port 6881 is block or something.
Here is the site I'm trying to download from http://fights.worldboxingvideoarchive.com/ and I'm using U-Torrent and Bittorrent software/client... Please help edit: Which torrent software is the best/easiest to use. Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: mex on April 11, 2006, 06:58:20 PM go into bit lord and randomize the port you are using, this happens occassionally. or manually change it to 6545 or something

Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Sark79 on April 11, 2006, 07:04:06 PM Torents...?????????????????????
To much for me .... Its all Greek to me Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Ironside on April 11, 2006, 07:05:33 PM you will find that some isp block common ports used for filesharing
so you need to change the port on your client as i dont know the client as its not the client i use you will have to search in the prefences for the port another problem could be if your using a router you would need to set up port forwarding Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Sark79 on April 11, 2006, 07:09:38 PM Is Linwire a torrent thingy?

It was truly awesome, however this is highly recommended for viewing torrent flies, it comes with a large codec bundle:- http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/ Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Nem on April 12, 2006, 12:48:46 PM I tried to download Lost Series 2, but it was so slow, all my computers were affected, it really was unbearable. Does anyone know why my whole network was slow? Is there anyway around this?
Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Junior Senior on April 12, 2006, 12:54:32 PM I have some questions, if one of the techies could oblige.
1. is this torrent downloading stuff legal? 2. is it free? 3. where's the best sites to go? 4. what software do i need and how do i get it? thanks, much obliged in advance. Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: Bongo on April 12, 2006, 12:59:50 PM Junior, it depends what you download, much like p2p the technology itself doesn't do anything illegal but you could use it to illegally download copyrighted material.
Nemesis - Does your client allow you to limit the upload speed of the torrents? I find that this is what generally slows networks to a crawl. I'd recommend setting it to a reasonable level so you are still uploading but everything else still works. What to set it to would depend on the upload speed of your internet connection. I have ADSL and 256k upload so i set the max to 13Kbs and it works well. Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: CelticGeezeer on April 12, 2006, 01:12:25 PM I would recommed using Bitcomet as your torrent client, they also provide forums which will help you with any configuration issues.
I like the http://thepiratebay.org for downloads. The fact that some people misuse the system shouldn't allow the film/record companies to close it down. Title: Re: N/P: Torrents Post by: happybhoy on April 12, 2006, 09:14:46 PM Here is a good post on increasing the speed of bitcomet that worked for me
