Title: Poker Tracker Post by: RyG on July 18, 2005, 06:10:11 PM Hi,
I've been keeping track of my winnings/losses by using a simple spreadsheet but id like to keep a more accurate record and have been told theres some decent free tracking programs availiable online. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any of these.. Thanks In Advance Ry Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: tikay on July 18, 2005, 06:13:07 PM Personally, I can't help RyG, but I wouild like to welcome you to the Poker 425 blonde Forum. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Sheriff Fatman on July 18, 2005, 07:46:16 PM Poker Tracker's demo is free for the first 1000 hands you import into it - after that you'll have to purchase it ($55 last time I looked).
Its worth its weight in gold and will pay for itself many, many times over. Basically, it uses the hand histories from your games to give you a complete database of your hands and opponents. The information is overwhelming at times but it'll give you everything you require to start plugging those leaks. It works on most of the main sites and is frequently being updated to add more. Best recommendation I can give is to download the demo from www.pokertracker.com and see how you get on with it. I'm fairly confident you'll feel the need to purchase it once you're familiar with it. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Sunday8pm on July 18, 2005, 11:46:11 PM agree with splash and fatman
poker tracker is very beneficial not only to poker but to seeing how much your making, or losing! also i find it handy in finding how much rake ive donated so i see what rake im going to get at the end of the month. If you know how to use pokertracker properly your play will get so much better trust me its worth the $55 Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 19, 2005, 12:49:28 AM Just downloaded it to have a gander.
I'm having trouble taking in all the info at the moment, but my gut feeling here is that an intense examination of the results will help shine some light on different parts of my game. I look forward to analysing how bad I am at poker. :P Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 21, 2005, 11:19:23 PM I can't seem to get the tracker to work with Ladbrokes. Has anyone else encountered such a problem? Works fine with Party.
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 21, 2005, 11:25:10 PM Working fine for me with ring games at laddies.
Have you got the latest patch? What problem are you having? Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 21, 2005, 11:59:13 PM How long did it take to import your hand history? I have 2500.
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:04:11 AM Quite a while the first time, i'd venture it will depend on the speed of you CPU and HDD though.
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:08:05 AM I get this message:
Import Finished With Errors - The import finished but there were errors. The error messages were written to a file named c:\utilities\poker\poker tracker\poker tracker v2\PRIMA_ErrorFile_20050722_000639.txt - 0 hand(s) were imported. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:10:04 AM What errors are in the file?
Have you got the latest patch? I had a problem before I grabbed the patch. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:13:39 AM Duplicate seats and unknown action - all greek to me
I don't fully understand the timer. What's the difference between setting it to 1 min or 5. The hands still get imported don't they. Please excuse me - I have a very basic knowledge of computers. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:16:33 AM The timer is how often it reads the database, you can use this so it updates in (almost) "real time" so you'll always have up to date data.
http://www.pokertracker.com/patch.html grab the latest patch from there as well - see if that sorts you out :) Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:18:59 AM thx for the help.
I'm pretty sure I have the latest patch. I downloaded it onto my desktop and then installed it into the same folder that I put my poker tracker in. Is that all you have to do with patches? Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:21:18 AM Yes.
What version does it say in the title bar at the top of the screen? Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:22:36 AM 2.07.03
It said that be4 I put the patch in. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:24:07 AM Also, with this timer thingy, does it just add on hands that you played since it last checked your database?
I appreciate the help by the way. Many thanks. Will fold aces to you one day :-) Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:26:21 AM That's the version I have.
It reads all the hands and only imports the new ones. edit: is it still not working? Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: RED-DOG on July 22, 2005, 12:30:25 AM I dont have it but I think I read in the blurb that you have to tell it not to read the old hands over and over
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:31:09 AM Well. I have hands in my database so I guess it's working.
Also, the 0 hands were imported at the end of the error message simply means that I haven't played any hands since I last read the database? Am I right by that? It says errors, but when I looked, there were only 4 which I wouldn't say ruins much. Am I right in assuming that this doesn't work with comps. Thx again. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:32:47 AM I dont have it but I think I read in the blurb that you have to tell it not to read the old hands over and over Yeah. I think I've noticed that it does that. Will have to work that 1 out soon. :) Lots of interesting info on here RED. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: snoopy1239 on July 22, 2005, 12:34:33 AM Cheers for your assistance Bongo. I think I should play some hands tomorrow and see if it updates them okay.
I'm concerned about my computer slowing down from all these hands, but I'll read through the help files about that. Nice one Cyril. I won't fold those aces actually, maybe kings tho. ;) Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: ifm on July 22, 2005, 12:45:25 AM i couldn't get it to import, what folder for say crypto do you point it at?
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 22, 2005, 12:49:16 AM Nice one Cyril. I won't fold those aces actually, maybe kings tho. ;) Probably when I've got aces! ;) Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: NoflopsHomer on July 22, 2005, 02:07:34 AM hmmm it's not letting import my crypto stuff ???
Doesn't support Crypto tournament history, so I'll just wait until it does before buying. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: ifm on July 22, 2005, 02:38:39 AM my version says it does
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Splash on July 22, 2005, 09:39:27 AM Last time i checked it supports Crypto ring games but not tournies.
With the import hands feature you need to point it at the directory below your Log directory something like.... C:\program files\BetFair Poker\Log\XB003212304 If ur using hills etc then the path should be more or less the same apart from the Betfair!! The XB number changes from PC to PC there should only be one directory in there. On the import feature it's worth setting a directory up to move the files to once its been read. This speeds things up. The timer option should be used while playing in game. As someone mentioned this updates the stats in game and means you dont have to spend time loading files periodically. If you are importing a lrage number of files it's worth turning the 'autorate' feature offf as this slows things down in import. One thing to look out for is that if PT finds an error file... usually happens when u quit a game half way through and do not complete the hand history, then it will create an error file and leave the bad hand file in the original directory... this means that it keeps getting read and keeps creating an error file each time you import. After youve imported, clear the whole directory out once every few days to stop this slowing down the import process/clogging up you directory. If you use different poker sites its worth noting that there is a seperate import button on the toolbar for each site. This is because eash site has different file formats/directories etc. A must for anyone using PT is GameTime+ , this is free and theres a link on the main PT page. Its an application that overlays player stats onto your actual game screen!! Keep an eye all these slowing ur Pc down if you have an old PC and if u are playing multi tables. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Maroon on July 23, 2005, 12:12:55 AM Downloaded the trial version today. Saved me money on two fronts.
1 - Found loads of leaks I didn't know about. 2- Spent whole day analyzing my stats so only played for an hour, therefore didn't leak all day! Woohoo!!!! Will definately be buying full product. Every file imported has errors but am getting all the info'. ??? Gametime+ is brilliant too. Love all those fish icons in low limit games. ;D Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: RFC on July 23, 2005, 12:50:25 AM illegal

Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: jonthomson on July 23, 2005, 06:04:02 PM What games does PokerTracker work with? I don't want to go and buy the thing and find out it only handles ring HE when I mostly play PLO8, and if I do play HE it's tournaments...
Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: Bongo on July 23, 2005, 06:07:17 PM There are seperate omaha and hold em versions.
Take a look at the site - you can try before you buy, just limited to 1000 hands, which is enough to see what it does. Title: Re: Poker Tracker Post by: ACE2M on August 09, 2005, 01:46:41 AM thought this should be bumped up again.
I have just lost about 6 hours of my life to this but i reckon it's worth it. if your serious about making money at online poker this is essential. |
