I see we've gained a couple of new features on the forum but lost a stack of posts?

Yes, I am afraid we have lost a few posts, heres the story.

We had this "logging-in" problem which a lot of you had reported, ever since the server change. We (the techos) fiddled about with it, but could not cure it. It was not life-threatening, but it was ASIMS. (A Stone In My Shoe) - one of those little niggly things that irritate. We have a pretty neat Forum here, & we want to keep it that way, so we had to do something.

In the end, the techies persuaded us to do an Upgrade, "it will only take a minute"....., but it will solve the prob. So we agreed. After an 8 hour "down" (that's 480 minutes, for the techies benefit....) the prob was fixed, and we had a whole load of new knobs & button to play with, great.

But in the process, we seem to have lost between 40 & 100 posts, the 6 newest Members, & I've lost my most recent Personal Messages (incoming).

I toyed with the idea of asking the techies to try & restore the missing stuff, but on reflection, I really don't want to go through all that hassle and stress again. I was up all night yesterday "nursing my baby", as was Rhow, & it drives me mental when the site is down.

So apologies for the missing posts, & to the new Members we "lost" (though 18 have joined since yesterday). And if I have not replied to a PM you have sent me, it's because it has been "lost". Please send again, I always reply to all PM's.

There you go, you know as much as I do now.

Sorry folks, but in the long run, hopefully it will be worthwhile.
