Title: Last Nights 500 Pot Limit Omaha, Paris Post by: Mrs C on July 20, 2005, 12:31:26 PM El Blondie pulls through finaly in unlikely circumstances in the 500 PLO last night in Paris, with 57 runners.
After 7 weeks of bad beats and terrible luck in Las Vegas, Dave flys into Paris for the Pot Limit Omaha with flu, fatigue and jet lag. Reaching the dinner break losing a big pot and almost out the comp, only to come back and get smacked in the face by a deck of cards and claim victory for the 1st prize of 24000!! If Bruno gives permission - & we have asked him EVER so nicely - blonde will try & carry a Live Update from Paris. I wont have a word said against the French, never have dione. Title: Re: Last Nights 500 Pot Limit Omaha, Paris Post by: stewart on July 21, 2005, 06:56:04 PM where will you put your stuff tikay? lol its a tiny place lol,
mind u if it gets as many runners as last time you be ok lol, seriously though are they expecting decent numbers this time? we went over for the last but 1 event and the numbers were tiny, 27ish for the omaha 40-50 for the main event, tiny amounts of pepole, cash games hotted up a little but nothing like what i expected, if it wasnt for the online sites the main event would of had 30-35 pepole lol, i wish you and el blondie good luck there, i hope you been there before also btw, it took us nearly 5 hours to find the front door!!! lol Title: Re: Last Nights 500 Pot Limit Omaha, Paris Post by: tikay on July 21, 2005, 07:25:20 PM Well there was a Paris Festival 6 months or so ago that had awful numbers, in january I think, but next week, for the WPT, there will be plenty, in fact the WPT has a "double" opening day, Monday & Tuesday.
For the Rendezvous Festival in Paris so far, the numbers hve been much better than January, 71, 65, 132, 98 & 57, the last being for the E500 Omaha, so decent numbers. For the WPT, I'd be surprised if there were not 300-400. I'd like to play it - love to in fact, the WPT is an ambition of mine - but it's a choice between there, & the 5k at The Vic, so I will probably opt for the latter - may even try & win a seat online, I think Blue Square have a satellite tomorrow. It is small, as you say, but we don't needa lot of room. I don't know yet if Jen is coming - though I hope she is - but we need Bruno's "yes" first, then we'll sort it out. As to finding the front door - I'm surprised you say that - it's one of the easiest to find I've ever been to. Go to the Arc, turn right, 200 yards on the left, on the Champs Elysses. Now THATS a posy address! I actually love the Aviation & Paris, one of my favourite venues, despite the French seeming to think they own the place. |
