Something I mentioned in jest in another thread seems like an idea with legs. when the first challenge was on I'd have loved to throw my name in the hat but I didn't and still don't have the roll to be playing these challenges, besides there are more experienced players flying the Notts flag.

HOWEVER, do any of the Young Blondite Notts boys fancy puting together an 8 man 'B team' to act as a sort of warm up / reserve group. I'm sure Phil would be up for it. anyone else interested?

I'm a student in Nottingham (not there at the moment due to long summer break  ;D)! But am looking to start playing regularly at Gala once back in Oct and would be interested in this.

we haven't even got a team yet, but nothing much. probably only 10 a man or similar. we're not challenging the Notts team for the trophy, they're still the Notts represetatives vs other casinos.

I'm talking about a bit of fun and the cream of the crop that is the Notts HU team letting us mortals have a knock about with them. once we've got 8 definite interested players we'll throw down a proper challenge and organise a date.

lets do it this way.

If you would like to be a part of Notts B HU team to take on Notts A for small stakes and a laugh PM me (even if you've already expressed an interest). also feel free to nominate players you know. when I have a list of players we'll narrow it down to strongest 8. Proximity to Nottingham would be an advantage, as would availability.

The B Team, & the whole concept, is Adam's baby, so it's up to him who is in or out. Nobody has been nominated to sort the A Team, but I am sure someone will step forward.

now, now Tony, leave off. it's not going to be like a pub pool A and B team where the A team look down their noses and wind up the B team, whos sole purpose for existing becomes beating the A team. No, this is designed to strengthen ALL Notts HU players ending up with two teams worth of strong players. I only went with Wednesday on Nightflys suggestion because there'd be room and no comp to work around. before a regular comp is possible but what if we're not done in time? A wednesday would be good because it could take as long as necassary. I understad you high rollers have probably got a lot on but we're only after one night from your schedule.

Luton B v Notts B sounds great in principle but the problem is your average B player isn't a traveller.

Well as long as the guys can make Wednesday's, then fine - though it's the worst day of the week for me. But maybe thats part of the plan - neutralise the best player....

how about 16 man 2-table tourny afterwards as well then, make a night of it and let the A-Team get some revenge after the heads up game?

Julian Thew offered to join the team last night but I think he mis-understood at first what was going on. it's players like him, Rob Yong, Greg Hill, and Tikay (cough) that we're looking forward to taking on. perhaps when we win we'll discuss defectors. ;)
