Title: Mad Marty Satelite - FAO: Glasgow Blondes
Post by: GlasgowBandit on April 18, 2006, 05:26:36 PM
Well boys and girls,

Finally we are going public with our little plan.

Myself and Steeley68 have been trying to organise a sociable poker night for a few bodies at work and we had spoke with Damon at the Cincinnati, who gave us some excellent packages to choose from for a corporate event and very reasonably priced it was as well.

However, the sports and social committee have shelved our idea and basically gave it the big thumbs down by telling us poker was bad and promoted gambling.  Coming from the same committee that has recently held a very successful night at Shawfield Dogs, has held numerous race nights and gives out lottery tickets and scratch cards as incentives at work.   Further they have planned a night at Hamilton races in July.  Flabbergasted by their pitiful reasons I am.

Not to be defeated, me and Steeley have pressed on with the idea and through word of mouth we have managed to round up 16 - 20 bodies that are coming along to the CinCin on Friday night.  Normally the club would be closed with the new schedule but Damon is letting us run with the idea.  Rather than reverting it to a home game.  We want to being some new folk to the Cincinnati and hopefully onto blonde as well.

I have contacted a few individuals from this site via pm and invited them along and have had some positive responses, now I am extending the invitation to all blondes particularly the Glasgow ones.

We will be having a £20 double chance freeze out, this Friday 21st of April.  4k starting stacks and a 30 minute clock.  We hope with the help of Blondes and the guys at work to muster a decent crowd, our expectations are to get 33 folk.  If we manage this we will be paying first 4 places and the prize is entry into the Mad Marty Freeze out on the 29th of April.   It’s a very decent chance to qualify for anyone not buying straight in.  It would be nice to get a turn out for the Cincinnati for their help and it would also be nice for the boys and girls at work to have the opportunity to enjoy a poker night.

Perhaps if we can create the right atmosphere when they go back and the gossip hits the work the next time we propose an event like this it will get the seal of approval.

Anyone interested in attending leave your names here alternatively e-mal card.shark@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks for taking the time to read this and a two fingered salute to the E**re Sports and Social Committee.

Gary
