As part of the climax to the 4,000 STTs in 4 months thread I'll be doing a sponsored 24 hour $55+$5 turbo sit n go marathon from 3am this Saturday to 3am on Sunday.

The money raised is to go towards Poker4Charity, a fine and worthy cause.

You can sponsor me thus....

1/ 10p or whatever per tournament (likely to be 200-300)
2/ 10p or whatever per tournament I manage over 150 (likely to be 50-150)
3/ flat sponsorship of £1/£2/£5 etc.
4/ 10p or whatever per hour. (24)
5/ any way you wish (seeusyermoney)

Every penny of any sponsored dosh is going to the Poker4Charity childrens charity. (http://www.poker4charity.org)

In addition to this....

IF over £150 of sponsorship is raised (in like 2 days) then I'll donate 15% of any net winnings that day also.

I've posted this on the thread in the internet section and thought i'd better post it on this thread as well as i notice a few people have already chosen this option!!

Word of warning if you do get a lot of people sponsoring you then it isnt advisable to have them all pay you by transferring money into your pokerstars account at the same time.

Pokerstars become very suspicious of things like this as they think that people are using their site for things other than playing poker.

The following is one of the clauses from their terms and conditions:

"4.2 PERSONAL USE. The Software is intended solely for your personal use. Commercial use of the Software is strictly forbidden. The User is only allowed to wager for his/her personal entertainment. Under no circumstances shall a User be permitted to use his/her "real money account" with PokerStars for any purpose other than for playing the Games. The User agrees that his/her use of the Games is in a personal (and not professional) capacity. Before the User participates at PokerStars, he/she is responsible to verify the laws on gambling which govern the User use of the Software in order to determine restrictions and act in accordance thereto. The User must provide full and truthful information regarding his/her legal name and identity when such information is requested by PokerStars. A User may not have more than one account with PokerStars."

I know someone who was selling something over the internet and got people to pay by transferring money into his account - pokerstars froze his account for several weeks before he could convince them that he wasnt doing anything untoward. Eventually they unfroze his account but he has to be very careful when he wants to transfer funds in or out of his account.

Game for Life now has a credit/debit card merchant number and SHOULD be getting its new machine next week so credit/debit card donations will then be taken over the phone if preferred.

Perhaps those that play regularly play on Pokerstars (I don't as they are not corporate sponsors of P4C/G4L) can pester contact them to see if they would like to contribute. If their contribution is £1000 or more they will become corporate sponsors for the next 12 months.

Forgot to mention if anyone requires a personal reciept please pay directly to Game for Life otherwise thetank will be reciepted for the TOTAL raised.

I dont check it either, the only reason i know about it is because i know someone who had their account temporarily frozen while pokerstars looked into "unusual activity" on his account.

Maybe tank you could get in touch with pokerstars and tell them of your quest of 240stt's in 24 hours and ask if they would donate the rake they receive for every tourney you enter during the 24 hours in question? 240 $55+$5 tourneys would be $1200 and its not like pokerstars will miss it afterall they get to keep the other $9600 they make from your opponents!! ;)

One thing that I ought to add is that pokerstars keep a track of who is transferring you money too, and if they see your 2 names on the same stt, as honest as it may be then they can go further with it

Hi folkes Cairn here, Thomas now has re-enforcements, okay between the last 140 to 160 tourniments we have had 1 first, 3 seconds and 4 thirds, so its going not to bad....apparently.

We are down 111$ since the last update, but we're still up 300$ total.  YEY!

There's been afew bad beats but he's getting over it gradually, some comforting was invloved, and he is now listening to musicals to keep him concentraiting......what a big woman!

I also brought some supplys so im in the good books, maybe i'll be getting a present later.....what do you guys think????

Hey guys, Cairn here again, right we are ahead of schedule by finishing tournament 180 five whole minutes early!  So the bru and tobacco is working its magic!

During this stint we have got 3 thirds, 2 seconds and 4 firsts, so we're on the right track.

384$ up and 684$ total.

Thomas is delighted to be up more money than he was 16 hours ago...At last!  however hes proably going to muff some back now lol!

I just wanted to note that i think its fab how much support he is geting for his challenge.  everyone has been right beside him every step of the way.  so thankyou!

I think it is now taking its toll on him, coz hes beginning to act a little strange.....his conversation is constantly filled with poker stuff, which i dont really understand, but its nice to play along!  

Im just waiting for him to tell me hes going to get a tatoo on his ass of the results of this 4,000 STT's......you never know.

It looks like we've got around £700 in sponsorship (to be confirmed) and with the 40% of the winnings $473.2 it looks like roughly £1000 for P4Cs coffers.

Got quite nostalgic reading that - it's kind of like that was blonde in it's childish innocence and that can never be regained as it (she?) has faced the same inevitability we all have and aged and changed. Just looking at the names posting there that are evocative of some of the dramas/falling outs that  occurred over the years that followed is quite something.

Controversially, I may have used my one time token there.

We raised over £1k, but gave it to P4C who turned out to be a less than efficient charity. But they would have been an even less efficient charity had we not raised that grand so hey-ho.

Nobody asked me, but I did a 25hr session a few months ago and played just short of 500x  180's / 90's / Turbo MTT's.
