He'd had sympathy from The Nun, that's enough. You wanna hear The Nun be critical!

As my wife was giving birth I said "Carefull! You're squeezing my hand a bit hard!"  So thoughtless.......I've told her before about that.

Maroon - that's a classic Rd-Dog type line.

A candidate for Post of The Week.

Along with Robert HM's - "yeah, granted, child birth probably smarts a bit".

You guiys both single. Divorced, even?......

Recently had a bout of man flu myself, had to take 3 days off work such was the severity of my condition.

This was not ratified by the fact that half the women in the office contracted the affliction shortly after and didn't take a day off between them. (i think the virus was weakened after it's mighty tussle with me, boss doesn't agree though)

Tikay, very happily married with two beautiful daughters.  ;D

Love a bit of banter though. It's the key to happiness.

I said "candidate" not "winner"........

And do they take after Mum or Dad?

Wow, just IMAGINE having 2 daughters, it'd do my head in when they reached the age when boys become interested.

I've watched about 4 films in the last 20 years - one of them, on TV, was called something like Father of the Bride, with a white haired geezer - Steve somebody? That summed up being father of a girl, for me.

The girl - 21 or so - brings home her intended, & they sit on the sofa, he puts his hand on her thigh. Dad's face was a picture.....

I keep Charlie - that's the girl cat - safely indoors. Not having her messed about with by some randy Tom. Mind you, she's about 15 I think - that's older than me, in cat years.

I have 2 boys, Liam who is almost 16 and is going through that bloody infuriating stage where his vocabulary consists of "yeah" "no" "nuffin" and "is there anything to eat", and Sam who is 13 and a very talented boxer...i have the bruises to prove it !!
But im so glad i dont have girls, i think i would have been the worlds strictest father ...they wouldnt be allowed out the front door until they were 21 !!!

I took up boxing when I was 23, I trained hard for 6 months and was superbly fit whan I had my first fight, I was matched against a great hairy monster who broke my nose in the first 30 seconds and then proceeded to beat the bejeasus out of me for the next two rounds, although I did manage to block most of his punches with my face.

Before the start of the third and final round my corner man tried to get me to retire on the pretence that I had hurt my thumb, but I was young and foolish and insisted on carrying on.

the third round was just a blurred nightmare, then, suddenly everything seemed to be happening in slow motion, I could see this big sweaty face seemingly motionless in front of me and I hit it with a huge, desperate, last of my strength punch. I knew I had connected, it was like hitting a wall, then as I stood there, totaly spent, trying just to remain upright and struggling to get air into my screaming lungs, I saw his eyes roll upwards and watched in amazement as he toppled, pole like, to the canvas. My first thought was "if he gets up, Im gettin out of this ring" but he didn't and I was the winner by a knockout.

It was a very unfair result to what had been a great performance by him, I had a drink with him the next day, (lovely bloke) there wasnt a mark on him, I on the other hand had a nose like a pump handle, two huge fat lips and I couldnt see out of my eyes, and I was the winner?

I retired from boxing that day, but I still have a 100% record

Will the swelliing on the lips ever go down?

You really ought to be a stand-up - or even sit-down - comedian Red.

"I managed to block most of his punches with my face".......

Used to do kick-boxing.  My mate promoted a fight night and said he wanted me to fight but there was no one at my weight.  Only opponent was 10' 7lb.  I struggled for 4 weeks to lose 20lb when I was already fairly lean.  Just managed it but felt so much weaker.  2 hours before the fight opponent withdraws!  Another guy withdraws so there is an unknown opponent if I want to take the fight.

You guessed it, he weighed what I did before I stripped weight!  Took the fight and luckily for me he was less experienced.  Stopped him in the 2nd with broken ribs.  Calling an all in with medium pair doesn't seem nearly as hard a decision after that.  :D
