Post by: Royal Flush on April 26, 2006, 05:12:09 PM what on earth are you both doing? by some small chance has he seen you bluff your way to $60k in chips? even if i am bluffing i am almost always ahead of him! Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Royal Flush on April 26, 2006, 05:12:26 PM oh and i don't bluff....i speculate
Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: SupaMonkey on April 26, 2006, 05:31:29 PM I reckon he woulda folded if you had bet the turn. He obviously thought your end bet was a steal but i don't reckon he stopped to think that he was behind to A high.
Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: BigTomatoes on April 26, 2006, 05:48:14 PM i agree. pretty wild on both sides. Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Raindogs on April 26, 2006, 06:13:10 PM I think he started off defending his blind because you only raised the minimum and then got caught up in a muddle deciding whether you were stealing with crap. He probably called your flop raise because it was "only" costing him 1600 for a 6000 pot. When you checked the turn he may have seen your turn check as weakness and your river bet as an attempt to steal the pot.
As there are only 3 different card ranks on the board he probably decided that it was unlikely you had any of the board cards (although your stop & go would fit perfectly with someone holding a Q or 3). That leaves the possibility of an A or a PP in your hand. It is 5000 to win 12600 so he probably decided that was good enough odds to gamble that you were trying to steal the blinds with rags. His play looks crazy but he might also be a very good player. Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Sunday8pm on April 26, 2006, 07:04:52 PM flushy i call,

It was sick i had 60,000 at the first break, never had such a lead (starting 2k chips) I still managed to bubble... Title: Re: How does he call?? Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Table Manners on April 27, 2006, 04:17:58 AM Don't mean to hijack, but just thought I'd mention that I played a guy called Sunday8pm on crypto the other day. Was it you? I assume so, my user name is Akinetic. If I remember rightly you sat down with £25 and left with about £82! Didn't realize you were a blonde member.
Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Junior Senior on April 27, 2006, 08:20:55 AM flushy, having played with you a little bit and seen you persistently 'speculate' during an MTT i would have no option but to call on the end here at least - i would probably even move in on your thieving ass! - you fired twice, checked 4th street and then tried to buy it on the river with a $5k bet. -
accusation: your a thieving git how do you plead? Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Royal Flush on April 27, 2006, 06:25:52 PM guilty sir.
I know its so obvious i am stealing but he is not the player to resteal, and i think he needs ace hi to call! not K! Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: AdamM on April 28, 2006, 11:49:57 AM he probably call because it's you.
You either have Queens full or the King is winning. if he's heard of you (unlikely I know, given what a low profile you keep) he has to pay the $5k off. I think you probably keep betting on the turn if you have a bare Ace. Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: stallyon on April 28, 2006, 12:58:09 PM what really annoys me is when there is a possible straight or flush on the table and someone calls you huge pot raise with only two pair forcing you to muck your total bluff >:(
Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: Dubai on January 10, 2012, 11:21:56 PM guilty sir. I know its so obvious i am stealing but he is not the player to resteal, and i think he needs ace hi to call! not K! Ace high apparently is miles better than k high here :) Title: Re: How does he call?? Post by: SuuPRlim on January 10, 2012, 11:36:49 PM I think from you're preflop raise sizing he is assigning you a range of mid-suited and occasional suited broadway hands, he is (rightly imo) not giving you're range credit for premium high card hands or any pocket pair as your percieved ranged can;t innclude these from a pre-flop action of a call 800 and a raise of 1600.
OTF, because of how 3-heavy his range to defend from the BB is he cannot give you credit for raising a queen for value and believes you would trap his 3 dominated range with 93+ and look to pot control with 83 and below. No doubt he is worried your flop bluff-raising range will include the odd A-high but he has discounted most decent A-highs form your pre-flop range so he can still happily proceed for value with his K high. The queen is a brick on the turn as you can't raise a Queen on the flop and he is trapping, once the river bricks he believes (rightly so imo) that only a small % of your A-highs (most of which you can't have) will bluff on the river and weight your range entirely towards mid card bluffs, NO DOUBT A HAND LIKE 59 of spades. MY conclusions on this hand; Your post-flop line is exploitable because of your pre-flop sizing, you should have called the 800 and raised 2022 and then your range can include more premiums/pairs and A-highs He should fold pre-flop some % but then YOU SHOULDN'T LET THESE CLOWNS STEAL YOUR BLINDS FOR A MINIMUM BET - so he needs to call a decent % I Have way too much time and should either get a hobby or a girlfriend. |
