Title: Call or raise for value?
Post by: Table Manners on April 29, 2006, 05:31:55 AM
£25 cash game, 3 players. blinds are 15p/25p

button limps

sb limps

i check my 9To in bb

flop comes QQJ Rainbow.

i bet 50p (into a 75p pot)

button calls

sb calls

turn = 4 (no flush/flush draws possible)

i check

button bets 75p (into a 2.25 pot)

sb folds (??!!)

i call

river = 8 - i made my str8.

i bet £1 (into a 3.75 pot) (good bet? - i's fishing for a raise, but didn't want to commit my self too much in case of the house. hoped he had just a q played badly.)

anyway, he raises to 3. a very small raise that i'm definitaly not folding too.

My question is, do you raise for value and hope he's not played a house very slowly, or just call? Should I have made a differerent bet on the river? Wadaya think?

I'm not much of a cash game player but i would just call here because if you raise and he reraises you, then what? You are in a difficult position.
